Dead bodies will give your villages in Manor Lords a negative approval rate. Here’s how to get rid of them.
Drawing inspiration from historical medieval warfare, Manor Lords features real-time combat where you directly control your militia and mercenaries to fight off raiders and conquer enemy lands.
Unfortunately, casualties are inevitable during raids and warfare battles. In addition to bandits and rivals, some of your own soldiers may get killed. This results in a ton of dead bodies lying all around the village, negatively affecting your villagers’ mood and your overall approval rate. Thankfully, Manor Lords provides different methods for dealing with these dead bodies.
How To Remove Dead Bodies
As it turns out, corpses in Manor Lords do not simply vanish when they hit the ground and need to be properly buried. The most obvious way to pay homage to your fallen troops is to retrieve their bodies and bury them on Hallowed Ground in the Church.
To bury the bodies of your dead villagers, simply build a Wooden Church and assign a family to work as Gravediggers. You will need the following resources to build a Wooden Church:
- 5 Timber
- 20 Planks
- 10 Stone
You can upgrade the Wooden Church into a Small Stone Church to get 250 Influence Points and increase the approval rating of your village.
On the other hand, the dead bodies of enemies and raiders do not deserve to be buried on consecrated ground. To remove their bodies from your settlement, simply dump them in a Corpse Pit.
The Corpse Pit is already unlocked at the start of your playthrough and does not require any materials to be built. However, be careful where you build the Corpse Pit as it takes up unnecessary space.
It’s recommended to place the Corpse Pit at the edge of your settlement and assign a few families to act as Grave Diggers. These workers will automatically drag the dead bodies of enemies after a battle and bury them, ensuring that your village approval rating doesn’t be affected.
