In Palworld, you'll collect hundreds of unique Pals in your pursuit for the perfect companion. Once you have them, you can train them to become the best of the best and challenge your friends to see who the better Pal Tamer is. The best (and only) place to do that is in the arena located within the cluster of islands.
We'll help you not only find the arena, but understand how it all works and what it takes to win. Any Pal Tamer worth their salt should try their hand in the arena at least once, as it's a great way to show off your skills!
Palworld is in Early Access, so details are subject to change. We'll update our guides as needed.
Where To Find The Arena
The arena is located at (628, 15), southeast of the desert. You'll need a mount to reach the secluded island, but almost any will do. Make your way there and approach the arena's door to get started.
There's a fast travel point near the entrance, so make sure to activate it so you can come back later!
How The Arena Works
To challenge your friends in the arena, you'll both need to arrive around the same time. Approach the doors to the arena and interact to join the lobby. Once you're both ready, you can begin.
You'll be brought to the Pal Selection menu, where you'll get to choose which three Pals will accompany you into combat.
You can see which Pals your opponent has in their party, so make your selection accordingly for the best match!
Once you enter the arena, there's only one way out. It's a battle against Pals and Pal Tamers. Your goal is to defeat all three of your opponent's Pals or the Pal Tamer themselves.
Once all three Pals are defeated, the match is over and you'll emerge victorious. The match will end immediately if you defeat the opposing Pal Tamer. The winner will be displayed on a victory screen, and both Pal Tamers will be deposited back outside the arena doors.
There's no limit to how many times you can challenge other Pal Tamers in your server, so feel free to battle as much as you'd like!
The best part about the arena is that you won't lose any ammo or Pals! What happens in the arena stays in the arena. Whatever items and Pals you enter with, you'll leave with, so don't worry about wasting any items or ammo.
Also, remember that there aren't any rewards (aside from bragging rights) for participating in arena matches.
Tips For Winning In The Arena
Winning in the arena isn't easy, but we have a few tips that can help you prepare for your matches. Whether it's the team you choose or how you direct them, here are a couple ways you can use the arena to your advantage:
Pick The Right Pals
Look at what your opponent has on their team and try to pick Pals that can hit weaknesses. If you don't have Pals that can use element advantage over your opponent, try to pick ones that can withstand the damage.
Bring A Flying Mount
You'll be vulnerable on the ground, so be sure to bring a flying mount that you can use to soar above your opponent. Attack from above and keep yourself safe from incoming damage.
Aim For The Pal Tamer
If you're having trouble taking down the opposing Pals, change focus to the Pal Tamer. Direct your Pals to attack the same enemy as you and lead the assault on your opponent. Once they fall, the match ends instantly.
Keep Moving Around
Don't back yourself in the corner or get in the middle of things. Instead, find the sweet spot between the chaos where you can fire at the enemy while still having enough time to dodge.
Leave Alpha Pals At Home
While they look cool and can have some advantages, the arena is only so big, and larger Alpha Pals like Jormuntide can obscure everyone's view. Then again, maybe you can use that to your advantage.
Diversify Your Team
Avoid getting element advantage damage by bringing Pals of different elements. A spread of Pals that compliment each other can help you achieve victory.
Keep Practicing Your Skills
All in all, you'll get better with practice. Don't give up and work together with your friends to create teams of Pals you can use in combat.
Remember that the arena is a great place to test out Pal team combinations, so try your luck with new and old Pals you've captured to see which ones are strongest. You're sure to have a great time if you try your best and utilize all of your Pals' skills in the arena!
