Beating several Alpha Bosses across the Palpagos Islands is a major appeal of Palworld. The Sakurajima Expansion added several Pals and bosses you can capture or challenge in a boss battle. You will also gain hefty rewards upon successfully defeating an Alpha Boss.
Knocklem is an Alpha Boss that you can encounter in Sakurajima Island. You will not come across it during explorations, so you need to challenge it at a specific boss location to defeat or capture it. It's a bulky Ground Pal with high attack and defense stats, and is a formidable opponent against Electric Pals.
Where To Find Alpha Boss Knocklem
You can spot Knocklem on the map near the centre of Sakurajima Island. You can find it under the cliffside, near the Dancing Sakura Shrine area, and to get to its location quickly, you can fast travel to the Moon Tower Entrance waypoint.
Head southwest till you reach Knocklem's location, and keep moving forward till you come across a cliff. If you glide or use a flying mount, you can spot Knocklem from above, so descend towards it to start the Alpha boss battle.
Jetdragon and Galeclaw are some excellent riding Pals that can take you to Knocklem's location quickly.
How To Beat And Catch Knocklem
You will encounter a level 55 Knocklem in the Alpha boss location, and it's quite a huge Pal with high defense and attack power. You will have a tough time defeating it if you challenge it without preparing beforehand, and since it's a Ground Pal, we recommend you add powerful Grass Pals like Mammorest, Robinquill, or Wumpo Botan to your team to beat Knocklem easily.
Knocklem cannot be caught with low-level spheres, even with the Legendary Spheres, there is a low chance of capturing at its lowest HP. Craft some Ultimate Spheres to capture it efficiently without wasting a lot of spheres.
You also need to equip a strong armour such as the Plasteel Amour or Pal Metal Armour if you are playing at a higher difficulty.
Most of Knocklem's moves are long-range attacks, so you might have a tough time getting r to it to deal damage, and we recommend you to use an Assault Rifle or a Rocket Launcher to hit it from afar. If you prefer combat, use a sword against it, and you can dodge its attacks by jumping, rolling, and avoiding their trajectory.
It's recommended to challenge the Alpha Boss Knocklem when you are at least level 55, along with your Pals.
Knocklem's Moveset
Knocklem's Moveset comprises a variety of ranged Ground-type attacks that are highly effective against Electric Pals, so do not add them to your team. Its weakest attack is Powershot, which is a Neutral type move with 35 power whereKnocklem will charge up some energy before shooting it your way.
Knocklem will hurl several rocks your way with its Stone Blast; it can be slightly harder to avoid, and you need to note their trajectory to prevent damage. The Stone Cannon attack is slightly stronger, as Knocklem takes a boulder from the ground and throws it your way, and you can evade it by moving away from its trajectory.
Its Rock Burst deals significant damage with 130 power; as soon as you see the Ground trembling, brace for an attack and avoid it before Knocklem scatters rocks with a violent burst. The further you are from it, the easier it gets to dodge this move.
Watch out for Knocklem's Sand Twister, as they can prove lethal. It will summon a few tornadoes around itself, that damage you or your pal significantly upon impact; avoid getting too near, as they are much harder to dodge.
Rock Lance is another move you need to watch out for, as this pointy rock springing from underneath and damaging you with 150 power can catch you off-guard. You can dodge it by noting Knocklem's hand positioning, and as soon as Knocklem wraps its arms around itself, you must roll backward to avoid the incoming attack.
Knocklem's Signature skill "Ground Cutter" is a dangerous attack that will deplete your HP greatly if it hits you. It grabs the ring on its back and throws it so it moves around in a circle. Roll forwards or backwards quickly as the ring approaches you to evade it.
Knocklem's Utility
If you have successfully caught a Knocklem instead of defeating it, we recommend you add it to your main team as it is a highly formidable Pal considering its high attack and defense. Furthermore, its Partner skill "Steel Guardian Mode" further enhances its offensive and defensive capabilities.
It can help you around your base to a great extent, considering its work suitability; Knocklem needs a lot of food, and you need to store a lot in your Feed Box. However, it's worth investing in considering you can assign it for a variety of tasks, as it excels at transporting scattered items in your base, while it can also assist you in Mining and Gathering.
