In addition to playing through the main story in Path of Exile, you will get the chance to complete Trials of Ascendancy. While these trials are important to increasing your power, it can be easy to put them to the side when you are in the first portion of the game.
Here, we are going to go over every Trial of Ascendancy location in Path of Exile, as well as completing them does for you. There are three main types of trials; we will go over where to find each one, but it's important to keep in mind that map generation is randomized, so exact locations cannot be noted; you'll have to seek each one out.
What Is A Trial Of Ascendancy?
A trial of Ascendancy is a little puzzle that you can complete, oftentimes requiring you to traverse dangerous terrain/traps in order to get to the 'end'. There is no boss that you are required to beat, but there will be enemies in the area that may be annoying if you don't defeat them.
After completing all the trials for a given section, you will need to head to the Sarn Encampment and interact with the Trial Plaque. When you interact with the plaque before completing all of the first six trials, you'll see circles filled in based on which trials have been completed.

What Is The Eternal Labyrinth?
The Eternal Labyrinth is the final labyrinth, but it doesn't unlock by completing trials. Instead, you will need one Offering to the Goddess.
What Do You Get For Completing A Labyrinth?
The first time you complete the labyrinth, you will unlock your ascendancy class. This is a class that is specific to your starting class. For example, if you originally chose to play as a Witch, you will have the following three class options.
- Necromancer
- Elementalist
- Occultist
After completing the other versions of the labyrinth, you will earn Ascendancy Points, which can be used in your Ascendancy skill tree. For example, if you previously unlocked the Necromancer class, then completing the Cruel Labyrinth will give you additional points to unlock new passives.
