Four temples, two alliances, one war.
You get to forge your own destiny in SaGa Emerald Beyond, which means that the choices you make have an impact on the outcome of your game. If you reach Cinq, you'll encounter several groups that plead for your help in the underlying war. You can choose who to support, and it will shape the future of the world.
When it comes to the Flamewave League and the Forestgale Alliance, you'll have to make a choice. Each side has its own benefits, and determining who to give your support to is relatively important. Here's everything you need to know about Cinq and the ongoing war.
The Flamewave League Vs. The Forestgale Alliance
When you arrive in Cinq, you'll meet the different priests of the Flamewave Leage and the Forestgale Alliance. While on the surface they all seem to get along, there are underlying tensions that strive for war.
The four elements at play are Flame, Forest, Gale, and Wave.
The leaders can be found at their corresponding temples, and speaking to them all reveals that each one wants your help to destroy the opposing group. You'll have to make a choice to support one or the other, and your decision impacts the fate of Cinq and the temples.
While you can support any of the four priests , you will ultimately have to decide on one faction . There is no neutral option.
Through a series of battles to defend the denizens of Cinq while they improve their infrastructure, you'll build trust with either the Flamewave League or the Forestgale Alliance.
You'll only need to build two structures for one of the opposing groups for them to decimate their enemies. That leads to the question: which side should you take?
Which Side Should You Choose?
Between the Flamewave League and the Forestgale Alliance, the only real difference is the materials you'll get. Whoever you choose to support will be successful in the war, and the opposing temples will be destroyed.
Ultimately, the denizens of the remaining factions aren't satisfied with destroying the opposing alliance and will demand you choose a side again. Based on the upgrades you want and the materials you need, you should pick the corresponding priest to assist.
Siding with the Forest Temple will provide materials like Cypress when completing the lumber mill.
Does Your Choice Matter?
Yes and no. If you're not keen on any of the priests, you can pick one at random. At the end of the Visions, before leaving Cinq, you'll reflect on your choices, but they won't follow you to the next world.
Ameya initially remarks that the outcome doesn't matter, and in terms of gameplay, it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. However, if you're hunting specific resources, that may influence your decision.
