The Car is useful for exploring Sand Land and starting off fights with an advantage.
Sheriff Rao's car is the very first vehicle you'll use in Sand Land, but you lose it early on. When you get it back, though, you can fit it with powerful long-range weaponry like missile launchers!
The Car's speed and firepower make it useful for exploration early on, and it's especially adept at rooting out hard-to-reach foes like flying Pteranos. Used in conjunction with a more robust vehicle like the Tank, a properly-built Car can give you an edge in nearly any encounter. Just be careful not to get cornered, since its maneuverability leaves a lot to be desired.
Best Sand Land Car Weapons
Cars use Missile Launchers in their primary slot, and will be your only option for deploying these homing projectiles for much of the game. Hold down the fire button while enemies are targeted, and missiles will lock on one by one. When you release the button, they'll launch and slowly make their way toward their targets.
Incendiary Missile Launchers are a great choice, since they deal fire damage over time after impact and can also leave dangerous burning areas to harm other enemies.
Your secondary slot will go to a Machine Gun, which is great for charging enemies head-on. However, you should be warned that the Car's Machine Gunis mounted to the front, so it can only shoot directly forward. If you need to quickly change your aim, swap to a different vehicle.
Best Sand Land Car Engine And Suspension
Cars have a decent top speed, so choosing an Engine that offers a good Boost multiplier will make traveling in the desert even faster. You won't be using Boost much in combat with the car, so you don't need to worry as much about Nitro consumption or recovery.
Your Suspension, on the other hand, really matters. A Stabilizer is a good choice, not for its Handling bonus, but rather for the additional Defense that it provides. The Car is one of the least maneuverable vehicles available, so you can expect to take some damage from enemy attacks; the extra armor helps mitigate the loss.
Best Sand Land Car Extras And EX Chips
By far, the best Extra you can equip on the Car is a bonus weapon like the Heavy Gatling Gun. These can only be used while stationary, but inflict heavy damage. Used in conjunction with your Missile Launcher, the Heavy Gatling Gun can tear through powerful enemies or soften them up before you call in the Tank.
High-tier Incendiary Missile Launchers can be hard to come by; try equipping an Incendiary Ammo EX Chip alongside a regular Twin Missile Launcher to get a similar effect. If you get a proper Incendiary later, the Chip will enhance its power!
Sand Land Car Combat Strategy
The Car is at its best when you have time to set up an attack before the enemy sees you. Approach until your target is in range, then stop. Target the biggest opponents with your Missile Launcher and fire. While the missiles are on their way to the target, switch to the Heavy Machine Gun and shoot relentlessly and everything that comes into range.
When the Heavy Gatling Gun runs out of ammo, or an enemy gets within their own attack range, switch to another vehicle like the Tank. Between the fire from your incendiearies and the hail of bullets you've unleashed, there probably won't be much left to clean up!
