Some stellar skills to unlock first?
Combat in Stellar Blade lies at the heart of the game, and Eve possesses a wide array of attacks thanks to her expansive skill tree. This tree offers numerous skills to unlock and utilize throughout her journey in battling the Naytiba and surviving the world.
However, during the early game, you'll only have access to a limited number of skill points (SP). It's crucial to invest these points wisely by unlocking skills that will provide the most benefit for your journey. This guide is here to highlight the most stellar skills that are sure to aid you significantly as you progress through the game.
These are the skills we recommend unlocking first, as they've proven invaluable in the long run for us. However, there's always room for experimentation with other skills , and if you're not satisfied with your current setup, you can always reset your skills .
Beta Energy Recharge 1 And 2
For just three SP, you can acquire two skills, Beta Energy Recharge 1 and 2, early on that will significantly boost your gameplay. These skills focus on increasing your ability to generate Beta Energy when landing attacks on enemies.
Beta Energy is essential for performing various Beta skills, including offensive maneuvers and follow-up combos after perfect parries or dodges. Since Beta Energy is utilized frequently, having the skill to enhance its generation is invaluable.
These skills can be obtained from the Attack skill tree .
Ambush
Undoubtedly, one of the most valuable skills in Stellar Blade is Ambush, and remarkably, it costs only one SP to unlock. This skill allows you to instantly dispatch enemies from behind while they remain unaware of your presence.
While combat is a significant aspect of Stellar Blade, there are times when you might prefer to avoid it. In such instances, utilizing Ambush to sneak up on enemies not only saves you time but also conserves healing resources. There's something exhilarating about stealthily approaching enemies and swiftly dispatching them, wouldn't you agree?
Ambush is acquired from the Attack skill tree .
If you happen to have an additional SP to spare, consider investing in the follow-up skill Beta Energy Theft , which allows you to gain even more Beta Energy from these Ambush attacks.
Shock Wave And Shield Breaker
These two skills, Shock Wave and Shield Breaker, each require only one SP to unlock. They are both Beta offensive skills that consume Beta Energy to perform, making them highly complementary to the previous recommendations for boosting Beta Energy generation.
Shock Wave is a potent ranged attack that allows you to unleash two waves of fatal energy on enemies, dealing substantial damage from a distance.
On the other hand, Shield Breaker is incredibly effective for depleting enemy shields, while also stunning enemies momentarily. Additionally, this skill can be charged to increase its attack power.
Both Shock Wave and Shield Breaker can be acquired from the Beta skill tree .
Rush Chain 1
You're already familiar with the Rush Chain ability, which allows you to charge into an enemy to the distance between you and them. But why not take it a step further and turn it into a combo?
With Rush Chain 1, you can add an additional combo attack after closing in on the enemy, giving you the upper hand in combat and dealing a significant amount of damage before the enemy can retaliate.
This skill can be acquired from the Attack skill tree .
If you have a few more SPs to spare, consider investing in the follow-up skills Lightning Rush and Infinite Rush . These skills i ncrease the charging distance and maximize the damage output of Rush Chain.
Focus Boost
With the Focus Boost skill, you can significantly enhance your parrying skills for just two SP. This skill makes it easier to execute Perfect Parries, making your parrying game more manageable.
Since parrying plays a crucial role in combat and you'll be using it constantly, having a skill that increases your chances of performing successful parries can be invaluable. It adds a bit more forgiveness to the parry mechanic, allowing you to execute more of these critical defensive maneuvers.
Focus Boost can be acquired from the Survivor skill tree .
If you're aiming to master the parry mechanic, which you should do, consider also investing in Beta Energy Recharge 1 and 2 from the same skill tree . These skills will further enhance your combat effectiveness by boosting your Beta Energy recharge rate when performing a successful perfect parry.
Counter 1
Let's say your parrying skills are good, and you've got a handy ability that lets you do it more often, making it even easier. So, why not take it up a notch and pair it with a combo? In this game, pulling off combos is key, and there's a whole bunch of them to try out.
With Counter 1, you can unleash a combo attack right after a perfect parry. This move lets you swiftly maneuver behind your opponent and deliver a stunning blow. Some enemies might stay stunned longer, giving you the perfect opportunity to launch another combo and take them down. Just remember, using this skill requires one Beta Energy charge.
You can unlock this skill from the Survival skill tree .
For an extra SP, you can also unlock Counter 2 , which grants you a different combo attack. While it still stuns enemies, this move also boosts your melee attack power .
Repulse
Repulse is a skill that comes in handy in specific situations, especially when facing bosses. Keep an eye out for certain enemy attacks that emit a purple glow. When you spot this, it's time to use the Repulse skill to dodge. But that's not all it does – it also reveals the enemy's weak spot, leaving them vulnerable for a short time.
Furthermore, Repulse temporarily boosts your ranged attack power. This is ideal for taking advantage of the enemy's vulnerability. Quickly aim with your drone and unleash a barrage of shots to their weakspots.
You can unlock this skill from the Survival skill tree.
Double Dodge
Dodging might not feel as effective in this game compared to parrying, which takes center stage much like in Sekiro. However, there's a skill called Double Dodge that can enhance your dodging capabilities. Essentially, it allows you to perform another dodge while already in the midst of dodging.
This skill proves handy as it enables you to evade certain attacks more effectively and extends the range of your dodges. This comes in useful for creating distance from enemies, perhaps giving you a chance to heal when needed.
Double Dodge can be unlocked from the Survival skill tree .
