Super Mario Party Jamboree Now Comes With Three Free Months Of NSO

Just when you thought the Nintendo Switch was winding down and we'd all be sitting around twiddling our thumbs, occasionally playing a remaster of a game we assumed Nintendo forgot existed, June's Direct came along and introduced a tonne of new titles coming to the console through 2024 and into 2025. We're even getting a new Mario Party, Super Mario Party Jamboree, despite the Switch having two Mario Party games to its name already.

Much like Mario Kart, making Mario Party games feel different is easier said than done. Most of them are just collections of the best boards and minigames from the series with added extras that most people don't like as much as the old stuff. Jamboree feels different. What we've seen of it so far makes Jamboree look like the most improved Mario Party game we've had for a while with new boards, tonnes of playable characters, and online play for up to 20 players.

Nintendo remains pretty slow when it comes to keeping up with the rest of the gaming world in terms of online play, but it's getting there, and the online features in Jamboree may well indicate another big leap forward is coming. It appears to be more than just a novelty thrown out there to stop certain Switch owners from complaining too. Nintendo has announced Jamboree will come with three free months of Nintendo Switch Online, indicating it wants as many people as possible to play the next Mario Party online.

Join The Online Jamboree

Whether you have pre-ordered Jamboree or you'll be buying it post-launch, you will get three free months of NSO. Not only does that mean you will be able to join up with 19 strangers and compete against them — still fascinated to learn exactly how that's going to work — but you'll also get access to the Switch's NES, SNES, and Game Boy libraries. The offer applies to those of you who already have NSO too, netting you three free months once you've entered the code that Nintendo claims never expires. It doesn't apply to family or Expansion Pack memberships, though.

The marketing push for Nintendo's next games has been ramping up the last few days as we venture deeper into what is typically the most barren part of the year for video game releases. Nintendo d its first half of the year with the launch of Nintendo World Championships and will wake back up again for the start of the 2024 holiday season when The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom gets here. Pre-order bonuses for the next Zelda game have started to appear, including an acrylic stand if you buy it through Best Buy.
