Thank Goodness You're Here might be a relatively short and linear slapformer, but that doesn't stop it from having more than its fair share of secrets to uncover and trophies to unlock.
While most of the secrets that you can uncover in Thank Goodness You're Here have to do with exploring Barnsworth and interacting with a certain number of things in town, there's one very interesting one that requires you to do basically nothing at all. Not only does it let you skip ahead to the ending, but it also awards you with a Gold Trophy called "Patience is a Virtue".
How To Unlock Patience Is A Virtue
Unlocking this shiny Gold Trophy takes very little effort at all, but it's something that most players are going to miss due to how specific its requirements are. Once you start Thank Goodness You're Here, you'll need to jump out of your office window and onto the bus to Barnsworth, where your little lemonhead protagonist will find himself waiting in the mayor's office.
While here, the receptionist will tell you that the mayor is currently busy and that you'll need to sit around and wait if you want the chance to talk to him. For most players, this is where you'd jump off the seat and walk out the door to cause mayhem around a little English town, but to get the trophy and secret ending, you'll need to sit still for around 15 minutes or so.
For the trophy to pop, you'll need to remain in your chair for those 15 minutes. Don't think about hopping out and standing around, as it means the trophy won't trigger.
Once you've done that, the receptionist will welcome you in to talk to the mayor, skipping directly ahead to Thank Goodness You're Here's ending and giving you the Patience is a Virtue trophy as a reward for waiting around. It's very similar to the sort of secret ending you find in Far Cry 4 and Far Cry 5, and it's nice that Coal Supper thought of such a detail.
Is The Secret Ending Any Different?
In truth, the ending itself isn't actually any different than the one you get if you play the whole game and go to the mayor's office when it's all done, but it is a faster way of seeing the credits and does mean you end up causing a lot less trouble for the citizens of Barnsworth.
