The lounge goes by many names: living room, den, family room, whatever you want to call it. It serves an important function in any home, acting as the central hub for movie nights, parties, or just chilling on the couch while playing video games. But it's too easy to fall into the same traps when decorating.
There are plenty of great pieces of custom content out there for The Sims 4, so it's easy to get overwhelmed while searching for new things to download for your living room. We've narrowed the list down to the highest quality creations we could find, in a variety of different styles.
8 Bella Living Room Set
- Creator: Taurus Design
- Available on: Mod The Sims
Perhaps your Sim is a goth, but maximalism and antique furniture just isn't their style. Everyone deserves the option of a sleek, modern living space, even goths. With that in mind, Taurus Design has created a lounge set named after The Sims' most famous and distinguished of goths.
The Bella Living Room Set was made with luxury and style in mind. It's a great set for the CEO of Sims Hot Topic, or perhaps a vampire with an eye toward modernity. Along with the plush seating and sleek accent tables, this set also comes with an unnerving little guy you can have emerge from your wall.
7 Parenthood Coffee Table Recolors
- Creator: simsi45
- Available on: Mod The Sims
Parenthood is widely acclaimed in the Sims 4 community as having some of the best and most versatile EA furniture, as it's one of the few packs to accurately portray the average suburban home. Unfortunately, while the meshes are solid, the color schemes on many of these pieces are less than ideal.
This is a simple recolor of the pack's two coffee tables, which the creator deems "two of the best coffee tables in the entire game." They're available in several different swatches, from simple solid colors to a handful of different woods for your Sims' living rooms.
6 Sims 3 Conversion TV Sets
- Creator: g1g2
- Available on: Mod The Sims
Sadly, The Sims 4 doesn't have much variety in terms of TV sets. They're mostly flat screen TVs in a variety of different sizes, some freestanding and some wall-mounted. This is a far cry from The Sims 3, which had a variety of different TVs for all your Sims with the Couch Potato trait.
Everything you knew and loved from The Sims 3 is here, including the garish children's TVs from the Generations expansion pack. Along with some flat-screen models, you also have a variety of different retro TVs to use, but none are as great as the super cheap TV set propped up by milk crates.
5 Delicato Lounge
- Creator: littledica and Deligracy
- Available on: Patreon
The Delicato Lounge Set gives your Sims an elegant modern space that still looks inviting and cheerful. While everything looks great for a contemporary space, you can see clear mid-century modern influences on several pieces, particularly the accent tables. There are also comfy sectional sofas for your Sims' lounging pleasure.
Several of the items in this set are based on co-creator and content creator Deligracy's furniture from their real-life home.
You're given a total of 37 items in this set, each with several swatches to help you make a cozy modern space. Some curved-wall compatible windows are also included.
4 Glamour Life Stuff Pack
- Creator: simsi45
- Available on: Mod The Sims
Sometimes you just want to spend an excessive amount of money to show everyone how disgustingly rich you are. If this describes any of your Sims, the Glamour Life Stuff pack might be worth your while. There are 60 new items for you to unpack, and the bulk of them are just perfect for your Sims' lounge.
Plenty of these creations are tacky modern furniture that will show all your Sims' neighbors how many times you spammed the Motherlode cheat, even if you couldn't buy good taste. There's also recreations of famous art pieces to put in your Sims' private collections.
3 Nostalgia Living Stuff Pack
- Creator: awingledllama
- Available on:Patreon
If you grew up in the 80s or 90s, this custom content set is for you. While there are several 90s-inspired creations on the Internet, few of them capture the aesthetics of the average person's home in that time period. This set, however, transports you right back a few decades.
One of the best features of this set is the assortment of 90s-era tech that's included, such as the PlayStation, the old CRT TV set, and the small electric fan that just about everyone had in their homes. You've also got classic 90s baby favorites such as VHS tapes, old home and garden magazines, and the floral couch that was always covered in plastic.
2 Livin' Rum
- Creator: House of Harlix
- Available on: Curseforge
The Livin' Rum set contains plenty of essentials for building your own modern living space, including modular shelving units to build your own bookcase or entertainment console. It goes great with plenty of items from EA's City Living pack, but custom works of modern art would also provide a great accent.
There are ten different seating options for you to choose from, so you can mix and match the sofas and chairs to your heart's content. You can also use some of the accent tables to help build a functional space for your Sim to work from home in comfort and style, if they don't have the space for their own home office.
1 Ikea Home Stuff Pack
- Creator: simsi45
- Available on: Mod The Sims
Ikea is a brand that was seemingly made for The Sims 4, featuring loads of simplistic furniture with silly names. EA capitalized on this by releasing an official collaboration during the Sims 2 era, but the two brands were never to have a meeting of the minds after that.
Fortunately, the modding community has stepped in to fill the void. All of your Ikea favorites are here, from reasonably-priced sofas and chairs to Billy the bookshelf. Whether you're building an entire room full of Ikea stuff or mixing and matching, this is one of the most essential custom content sets out there.
