We show you some tips for surviving The Hunger Games, Sims 4 style.
If living your Sim's lives in The Sims 4 is getting too boring, then it's a great time to jump into legacy challenges. These multi-generation challenges are perfect if you're looking for something to spice up your gameplay. Better yet, there are plenty of them available for you to choose from in the Sims community.
The Hunger Games Legacy Challenge is one of the most popular, based on the popular book and movie franchise. This challenge is particularly unpredictable since you may be entered into the deadly Hunger Games, with the chance that your Sim won't survive. If your Sim is cunning and lucky enough however, they'll stay alive. Here's how to help.
You can do the Hunger Games Legacy Challenge without any packs, but you will need to alter it a little.
Hunger Games Challenge Rules
The Hunger Games Challenge, created by Im-Not-A-Ro-bot on The Sims 4 Reddit, is a fourteen-generation legacy challenge that takes you through all the districts of Panem, including the Capital. Each generation comes with its own set of goals and rules like other legacy challenges but with the added difference of The Reaping, which could draft your Sim into the Hunger Games.
When your Sim ages up into a teen, they'll be able to be reaped for the games. You'll need to use a random number generator and pick a number to see if they get reaped. If it lands on the number you picked, your Sim will be entered into the Hunger Games. Then, you'll pick another number and roll the generator. If it lands on the number you picked, your Sim survives.
If you have the Seasons pack installed, you can set up a reaping holiday to run the generator on. If you have Get Famous, when your Sim wins the games, you can cheat fame to raise your Sim to a three-star fame level.
Different districts have better chances of survival and better chances of not being reaped. The Capital is the only generation where you don't need to roll the generator, as Capital kids aren't reaped.
If your Sim survives, they'll be awarded 50,000 Simoleons and fame.

For the first generation, your Sim will live a life of fame and fortune in The Capital. Nothing is ever enough for your Sim, and they want to climb to the top of the ladder. Whether or not they reach their destiny of being the most famous and wealthy is up to you.
For this generation, you should focus on building up your fame and fortune. While your job is important for wealth, you don't need to reach the top of the career track to successfully complete the generation. Get some side hustles to make more money, like selling collectibles. Be sure to be mean to everyone, too, to get a negative reputation.
Generation Two: District One
Traits |
Outgoing, Materialistic, Self-Absorbed |
---|---|
Aspiration |
World Famous Celebrity (must complete aspiration) |

District One's parents left them a good amount of wealth, so they're never left wanting. This means your Sim never has to get a traditional job. They live entirely off of what their parents left them.
That means your Sim has plenty of time to focus on their other goals. Fame should be the priority, as it's much more difficult to achieve than the Crystal collection. But, don't neglect that goal in the pursuit of fame. This Sim can also have as many children as they'd like, so long as they're all enrolled in an after-school activity.
Generation Three: District Two
Traits |
Hot-headed, Bro, Active |
---|---|
Aspiration |
Bodybuilder |
Career |
Military, Secret Agent, or Detective |
Other Goals |

While your grandparents and parents left you plenty of wealth, this Sim is no fool. Brute strength is the only way to ensure their success, so that is exactly what your Sim focuses on. They are not particularly kind to anyone, even their own child, but that doesn't bother them.
For District Two, your Sim doesn't need to worry about building up any relationships. Other than making sure they get into a few fights, this Sim doesn't need any friends to keep themselves happy. However, make sure to spend plenty of time at the gym or working out at home. This will make it easier for your Sim to win whatever fights they get into.
Generation Four: District Three
Traits |
Genius, Hot-headed, Bookworm |
---|---|
Aspiration |
Computer Wiz |
Career |
Tech Guru (Must reach top level of career) |
Other Goals |
|
Odds |
|
The District Three Sim is not a brute like their parents. They're brilliant, but the previous generation didn't care. The feeling was mutual though, and your Sim hated how brutal and angry their parents were.
So, this leads to your Sim running away from home. They'll need to build a new life for themselves. Since your Sim's life revolves around technology and logic, it will be easy to advance in the Tech Guru career, since most of their free time will be spent building up the Logic and Programming skills.
Your Sim needs to reach at least level eight in both Logic and Programming, but they're free to go higher. In order to reach the top level of their career, they need to end up reaching level ten in the Programming skill, anyway so focus on this skill first.
Generation Five: District Four

This Sim, unlike the previous generations, is very friendly and outgoing. They care about making friends and traveling as much as they can. However, tragedy strikes when they lose their first spouse, like Annie loses Finnick in the books. The District Four Sim is tough and is able to live a good life and get remarried.
For this generation, focus entirely on the Fishing skill and making friends. While your Sim is out at fishing spots, they're able to meet plenty of other Sims to interact with. There's no rule that the five friends and three friends have to be different, so feel free to count the friends as part of the other requirement.
Generation Six: District Five

Any (Must reach top level of career) |

This Sim, unlike their parents, is not well-liked. It doesn't matter why, but they don't tend to have a lot of friends because of it. This Sim's life is a mess. Luckily, this means this Sim doesn't have to work really hard on anything.
This Sim's goals are more for story purposes than actual tasks to achieve. That means you're free to work entirely on getting to the top of your career. While there are no rules on which career to choose, for the sake of the story, we recommend going with the Criminal career track.
Generation Seven: District Six

Loner, Clumsy, Unflirty |

Since this Sim had a nightmare of a home life, they're eager to get away on their own. This has made them flighty and unsociable. They feel safest moving around and switching jobs and don't get attached to anyone. They move out as soon as they can, and don't stop moving.
For this Sim, you don't need to achieve much. Make sure to keep track of how many times they have moved, so you don't lose count since they'll be doing it so much. Your Sim is free to move as many times as you'd like. Don't forget to change their name, too.
Try having your Sim move to different worlds each time. This makes it easier to keep track of where they've been.
Generation Eight: District Seven

Big Happy Family |

This Sim never felt wanted when they were growing up, which has caused them to want a large, loving household. They want to have plenty of kids and a happy marriage. They also have plenty of skills they want to build, which means they will fare better in the games if they're reaped.
For the District Seven Sim, you'll need to spend a lot of time building up different skills. Since you need to master the Parenting skill, you can count that as one of the two skills you need to master. For the others, you're free to choose whichever skills you want. You can have any job you'd like, so try building up the ones required to get a promotion.
Generation Nine: District Eight
Traits |
Perfectionist, Childish, Art Lover |

Aspiration |
Lord/Lady of the Knits |

Any |

While this Sim had a loving family growing up, that's about all they had. Being the District Eight Sim, they were very poor. This led to them often fixing their own clothes and household items. Using these skills, this Sim is hoping to make a better life for themselves and their kids.
For this Sim, try getting their Knitting skill mastered first so they can sell the items they knit. The higher the quality of the knitting, the more money it sells for. This will make it easy for Sim to get more money to take care of more kids.
You can either cheat or start a fire on your home lot . Have a Sim with low cooking skill cook on a cheap stove, and it's possible a fire will start. This is an easy way to get the death but you can cheat to create a more story-driven death by arson.
Generation Ten: District Nine

Outdoor Enthusiast |
Career |
Any (Part-time only) |

When your District Nine Sim was a teen, someone attacked their home and started a fire. This killed their parents and a few of their siblings. Since then, this Sim has struggled to take care of their siblings while working. They were half tempted to give away their child once they had them, but decided to keep them despite how poor they were.
For this Sim, they'll need to juggle taking care of their surviving siblings and working part-time jobs. This is especially difficult since they don't like kids, so your Sim will be uncomfortable a lot of the time. However, there aren't any other achievements they need to work on, so you can spend the rest of the time doing activities they like.
Generation Eleven: District Ten

This Sim had to fight just to get scraps from the table, so this Sim's only friend was their beloved dog growing up. When they take off on their own, their pet is the only thing that comes with them. From then on, they spend their time entirely with their beloved pets, whom they like even more than their spouse.
For the District Ten Sim, they're only happy around their pets. You'll need to get at least two more after they move out, but you're free to have more. This Sim will also be living off the grid, so they'll need to live on a lot with plenty of resources. Make sure to live somewhere near water, so they have plenty to gather.

This Sim grew up off the grid, and had a poor childhood growing up. Despite this, they still always hoped for the best and wanted to make a better life for themselves and their children. Their garden helps them do that.
This Sim is all about gardening and gets most of their food from their own garden. Since they grow up off the grid, they're able to start building their skill from a young age. This does mean they'll always have food around for their many children. Your Sim does, unfortunately, die young, but it's up to you how it happens.

The District Twelve Sim was forever changed by watching their kind, loving parent die from unnatural causes. From there, they set their eyes on the government that hosts The Hunger Games, who let their parent die. By making powerful enemies and overthrowing them, this Sim successfully ends the games, if they survive.
This Sim almost perfectly mirrors the protagonist of The Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen. They'll want to spend most of their childhood building up their relationship with one of their siblings. Once that sibling dies, they can focus on the rest of their goals. Your Sim will need to also focus on becoming famous, so be sure to work your way up. As long as it's done before they die, it will count.
This Sim has the highest chance of being reaped for The Hunger Games, but the lowest chance of survival. Your Sim will need to be very lucky to survive.

This Sim's parents are the ones who ended the deadly Hunger Games. This makes a better world for you and any children. But, because of a deadly pox that spread, your Sim is now infertile. This doesn't bother them though, as they're able to live a good life with a college education and a good job that their ancestors couldn't enjoy.
For the District Thirteen Sim, they luckily don't have much to worry about. This leaves them free to work hard on their education. They can go to any college with any major they want. To do better on their aspiration, have them go to college to earn multiple degrees.
Once the District Thirteen Sim passes away, you've successfully completed The Hunger Games Legacy Challenge.
