Steam has been running its summer sale for the past couple of weeks, during which games big and small have been heavily discounted. That sale comes to an end today (Thursday, July 11) which means most of those games will return to full price. That includes Baldur's Gate 3. Larian's 2023 masterpiece is new and popular enough that it doesn't need to go on sale, but if you buy it before the summer sale ends, you'll get it for 20 percent off.
Baldur's Gate 3 is a $60 game at full price. That alone is a pretty great deal when the industry standard has crept up to $70 for most studios during the current generation. Buy it before the Steam summer sale ends, so by 1 pm EST today, and you'll get it for $47.99. You don't need me to tell you that the latest Baldur's Gate took the world by storm last year. You also don't need me to tell you that it's not the sort of game you only play for a few hours.
If you fall in love with Baldur's Gate 3, odds are you will spend a lot of time in its world. More than enough to make it well worth the $48 you'll pay for it on Steam if you buy it before the sale comes to an end. There's also no way of knowing when Baldur's Gate 3 will be on sale again. Sure, that time will come. It might even be cheaper than it is now. Like I said though, Larian's hit is big enough that it doesn't need a price cut to keep it popular, so the studio won't be in a rush to sell it for less again.
Buy Baldur's Gate 3 While It's Still On Sale. Quick, Do It Now. I'm Serious!
$48 on Steam
Baldur's Gate 3 is far from the only reduced game that should be getting your attention today, of course. The hundreds of other games in the sale will also be returning to their usual prices once 1 pm EST has been and gone. That includes Hades, which does have a fantastic sequel, and Hollow Knight, which does not. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Both are well worth your time though and you can get both for less than $20. That's combined, by the way, not each.
$8 on Steam
If you're reading this after the Steam summer sale has already ended, don't get too upset. Sure, you can be a little sad, but there will be more opportunities to buy games for less. There's one coming up very soon as Amazon Prime Day is less than a week away. Some early prime deals on video games are already live, and we've got a hub featuring the very best of them that will be updated during the build to and throughout Prime Day.
