While they might not be the best controllers we have ever seen, the tech that goes into making them combined with first party controller prices in 2024 means the Nintendo Switch's Joy-Con cost a lot to replace. It'll cost you $70 for a new pair, so a deal running at Walmart right now should be of particular interest to anyone in the market for new Switch controllers. A bundle that combines a pair of red and blue Joy-Con with a copy of Super Mario Party for $69, effectively getting you the game for free.
The Super Mario Party Joy-Con bundle was revealed by Nintendo last year and even when sold at full price ($100), since Joy-Con are $70 per pair and Super Mario Party retails at $60, you're already saving $30. Walmart then cut the bundle price to $79 for a limited time earlier this year, saving you even more. This week it has dropped the price of the Mario Party bundle again, selling it for $69 which gets you the Joy-Con for less and the game for free.
The offer is a part of Walmart's July Deals event which runs until Thursday, although there's no guarantee this deal will remain live until then, nor a guarantee that the Joy-Con bundle will remain in stock. Anyone who needs new Joy-Con should be using this offer to buy them, unless the color combo included isn't to their liking, of course. Unfortunately, you can't choose which Joy-Con you get with the bundle. It comes with the red and dark blue options as standard.

It's strictly a Super Mario Party bundle, the whole point being that it's targeted at Switch owners who want to play Mario Party locally with others but don't have enough Joy-Con to go around. Pick this bundle up now and you'll have enough Joy-Con to go around when Super Mario Party Jamboree launches later this year, the third Mario Party game to come to the Switch during its seven-year run.
This week, Walmart is the best place to go if you're looking for Switch stuff for less. Whether it's new Joy-Con via the bundle above or some new games as Breath of the Wild is down to just $30, and it's far from the only Switch game on sale. Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can also play Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope for free this week and pick it up for less than $20 if they like it enough to carry on playing after the trial period ends.
