TikTok has responded to reports of widespread outages and glitches affecting users across the United States, confirming the issue is linked to an Oracle data center.
On March 3, the TikTok USDS Joint Venture said an infrastructure problem was disrupting parts of the TikTok U.S. user experience. The update came as creators reported lag when posting content and intermittent connection errors on the app.
The company said the issue was tied to Oracle and that work was underway to restore normal service.

In a post on X, the TikTok USDS Joint Venture wrote: “An issue with an Oracle data center is impacting some parts of the TikTok U.S. user experience.
Creators may temporarily experience lags in posting content while Oracle works to resolve the issue. We appreciate your patience and understanding and will keep you updated.”
The statement included a post from Oracle, which said: “In the past 4 hours, some Oracle Cloud customers have been intermittently experiencing connection timeouts, errors, and increased latency in Ashburn. We are working quickly to restore normal service operations.”
Oracle’s status page indicated the disruption was affecting some cloud customers, resulting in higher latency and connection timeouts.
