TikTok creator Gabriela de los Ángeles Sanarrusia Chavarría has died after she and her boyfriend were fatally shot inside their home in Costa Rica.

The 28-year-old lifestyle influencer, known online as Gabriela Sanarrusia, had built an audience of more than 100,000 followers across TikTok and Instagram through beauty and lifestyle content.

According to Argentine outlet La Nación, citing Costa Rican authorities, Sanarrusia and her boyfriend, Jose Isaac Agüero, 30, were asleep inside their home in La Cruz on July 4 when multiple armed intruders entered the property and opened fire.

Police investigating motive after influencer and boyfriend killed

Authorities said both Sanarrusia and Agüero died at the scene. According to People, citing information provided to La Nación by Costa Rican officials, the suspects fled the home after the shooting and allegedly set a white vehicle on fire.

Investigators believe the killings may have been motivated by retaliation, though police said they are continuing their investigation and have not confirmed an official motive.

Sanarrusia regularly shared videos documenting her daily life, fashion, beauty routines, and travel with her followers on TikTok and Instagram.

Her death comes just days after another TikTok creator was killed in a separate shooting in the United States.

On July 5, South Florida creator Brianna Johnson, known online as “ItGirlBri,” died after a drive-by shooting in Miramar, Florida.

Also this month, 15-year-old streamer Pedro Alexander Díaz Franco was found dead in black trash bags after allegedly being kidnapped by armed men from a soccer pitch in Honduras.
