Influencer Madeleine White has responded after social media users questioned the name she and husband Andrew Fedyk chose for their first child.

White announced on June 2 that she had given birth to a baby girl at around 33 weeks, following an emergency C-section and placental abruption. Alongside the birth announcement, the influencer revealed her daughter’s name: Juliette July Fedyk.

The name quickly became a talking point online, with some commenters questioning why the baby’s middle name was July despite being born in June. However, White had previously shared that her daughter was originally due in July before arriving several weeks early.

Rather than ignore the comments, the influencer took to TikTok to address the backlash directly, mocking the theories people had come up with about the inspiration behind her daughter’s name.

In a TikTok video, White responded to commenters who suggested Juliette’s middle name was tied to her original due date.

“Why would you name her July if she’s born in June? Now she’s gonna be answering that question, ‘Oh, I was supposed to be born in July.'”

“Wrong. Sorry, wrong,” Madeleine said, shutting down theories about where the name’s inspiration came from. “Come to the front, everybody named April. You born in April? Come to the front, everybody named May. Anybody check that birth certificate for January Jones? Like, God forbid you name a child something that has absolutely no relevance when they were born.”

She added: “And if she was born in December, she still would have had the middle name July.”

Many TikTok users came to White’s defense in the comments, joking about the origins of their own names.

“My name is Lily, I’m not a flower,” one user wrote.

“My name is Violet and I’m not purple,” another added.

Others pointed out that plenty of people named Autumn were not born during the fall season, while many people named Winter were not born during winter.

White also referenced the criticism in the video’s caption, writing: “Y’all thought pregnant me had an attitude, just wait for postpartum with a baby in the NICU.”

Before giving birth, White had shared several backup names she and Fedyk considered for their daughter in case they decided the name they had chosen did not suit her after birth.

Among the names on the list were Maude, Cosette, Cicely, Iris, Constance, and Romy. White previously said Romy was one of the frontrunners, until she learned it was expected to become one of the most popular girls’ names of the year.

In a separate TikTok posted the same day as her birth announcement, White opened up about the circumstances surrounding her daughter’s early arrival.

Speaking from her hospital bed, she said: “Hi baby, you’re early. Maybe a placental abruption, maybe something else, but it looks like you’re coming in the next couple of days here. I can’t wait to meet you can’t wait to meet you.”

She later confirmed the birth in the caption, writing: “Our brave, strong, beautiful girl made her appearance in the world at just 33 weeks old (on her own time as any good diva should). We are utterly besotted. We are so grateful for our wonderful medical team for getting us both through this safely, and the remarkable NICU staff for all they do, be back soon xx.”
