In the season premiere, contestants were split into teams of three and asked to cook any dish of their choosing. Instead of a traditional timer, teams had until a professional driver completed 23 laps around Charlotte Motor Speedway. They also could not plate their dishes until the final lap. Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson appeared as guest judges.
Who is Hosting Top Chef Season 23

Top Chef Season 23 is hosted by Kristen Kish. Fans will remember Kish as the winner of Top Chef Season 10 in 2013. After her victory on the show, she went on to build a successful career as a chef, restaurateur, author, and TV host.
