Ever since the days of Generation 1, the most iconic Combiner team in the Transformers franchise has been the Constructions. Now, this team is represented in its various vehicle modes through the latest wave of cross-promotional products.
Part of the Transformers «Galaxy Defender» series from Blokees, the new Blokees Constructicon figures showcase the Decepticon team in vehicle mode. Recreating their G1 designs, the toys are complete with a slightly animated aesthetic. On top of this, the construction vehicles can even combine, preparing the Autobots for extermination in the process.
Blokees' New Wave of Transformers Figures Unites Devastating Power of the Constructicons
The Constructicons are part of a new wave of the Transformers Galaxy Defender toys from Blokees, with these being officially licensed takes on the robots in disguise. Unlike most of the Blokees toys, which are based on the characters’ robot modes, these instead portray the vehicle modes of the Constructicons. Hook, Scrapper, Mixmaster, Bonecrusher, Scavenger and Long Haul are all based on their appearances in the animated series The Transformers, with a slight cel-shaded aesthetic seen in the windows of the construction vehicles. While they don’t transform into their classic robot modes, the most notable aspect of the Constructicons is recreated in these toys.
The Blokees Galaxy Defender Constructicons come with the parts to combine into Devastator, who comes complete with his massive purple gun. Images of the figures and a video showcasing the combination were shared on the Weibo account for Blokees. Of course, fans have to press their luck and buy each figure individually in blind box sets, but thankfully, there are only six Constructicons in the series to collect. Further news concerning release dates and pricing will be announced soon, though the general price for the series as a whole has been US$6.99. Other Transformers releases from Blokees have been mostly based around Generation 1 designs; however, a recent wave in 2024 saw figures based on the animated movie Transformers One. Hasbro, Takara and various third-party companies have also continued to release new toys based on the G1 version of Devastator and the Constructicons, who remain the most recognizable Combiner team.
