Twitch has announced a new AI-powered stream summary feature at TwitchCon Europe 2026 in Rotterdam, letting viewers catch up on what they missed before jumping into a live stream.
The feature was one of several updates revealed during the TwitchCon Europe Opening Ceremony on May 30, hosted by Mary Kish and Twitch CEO Dan Clancy.
AI catchup for latecomers
According to the official Twitch blog, the stream summary feature generates a brief AI synopsis of what has been happening in a stream up to that point.
Today we’re announcing our new Mid-Stream Summary experiment.

Viewers who join mid-stream will be able to read a quick recap and get straight into the action without feeling like they missed out.
Twitch said it will continue to experiment with what information is shared as the feature rolls out.
The AI summaries were announced alongside a wave of other updates including 2K streaming for Partners and Affiliates, dual format vertical video for mobile viewers and auto-generated clip highlights powered by chat activity and vocal inflection.
Twitch also confirmed TwitchCon Europe 2027 will take place in Berlin on May 22-23.
Exclusive Minecraft capes handed out at TwitchCon Rotterdam are already selling for over $1,000 on eBay.
