Twitch is reportedly issuing warnings to streamers who use the popular website ‘Omoggle’ while broadcasting, saying it goes against their Community Guidelines.

Similar to its namesake Omegle, ‘Omoggle’ pairs users at random in 1v1 video chats to see who ‘out mogs’ who.

Using a scoring system, the platform’s AI analyzes participants’ faces to see who has the superior canthal tilt and who’s just jestermaxxing. It’s become a big hit in looksmaxxing circles, but plenty of other users have been visiting the site for the memes, as well.

However, reports have now surfaced claiming that Twitch is sending out warnings to those who visit the website while live streaming on their service.

Omoggle & chat-roulette-style sites are not allowed on Twitch

Twitch’s Community Guidelines state that using “randomized video chat services” is strictly prohibited on its platform, as whatever pops up on screen is completely out of the streamer’s control.

“Randomized video content that you can not control is never allowed under any circumstances due to the risks it poses to viewers of the stream,” the guidelines read, going on to use Omegle alternative ‘Ome TV’ as an example.

Omegle was famously taken offline in 2023, but its absence has spawned a slew of similar sites, with Omoggle being a prime example of this.

Twitch isn’t alone in its stance against random chatrooms. Other major platforms have also taken hard stances against such sites; for example, Apple has banned “chatroulette-style experiences” from its App Store, including “objectification of real people (e.g. ‘hot-or-not’ voting),” much like Omoggle.
