Uber has launched a limited-time Uber Drift experience in Japan, and it comes off the back of Forza Horizon 6’s launch.
The launch of Forza Horizon 6 has scratched the long-time itch for a lot of car fans of wanting to experience Japan’s iconic drift culture. It’s the same itch that developed in people off the back of Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift.
As a result, plenty of travel agencies have started offering Tokyo Drift-style packages, letting you splash out on a trip to Japan’s capital city so you can take a cruise through the streets in some funky JDM cars.
Now, Uber is getting in on that too, with their new Uber Drift service. And yes, it works exactly as it sounds.
Uber Drift launches in Japan
That’s right, for a limited time, Uber is offering Uber Drift in Japan as a part of their Go Anywhere experiences. This offering sees travelers given the chance to take part in drifting culture, with professional tandem drifting sessions at the iconic Mobara Twin Circuit.
This run of Uber Drift will last from June 3 to July 1, with bookings going live at the end of May. It will set you back JPY30,000/$190/£140 for the 90-minute sessions.
Thankfully, you won’t have to pretend to be Han or Takumi from Initial D, as Formula Drift licensed drivers will take you out in signature street racing cars for the experience. You’ll just be riding shotgun and along for the ride.

As noted, you can book the experience via the Uber app, but you’ll only see it as an option if you’re near Japan. Plus, spots are very limited, so if you want to get involved, you will have to shell out a fair bit.
