Ryan Reynolds is making headlines again, and this time it is for a funny anecdote involving Stranger Things actor Joe Keery. In a resurfaced clip of Reynolds appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actor looked back on how a barricade tumbled toward him in Brazil during an international press event for the 2021 action-comedy Free Guy.

While the Deadpool star escaped unhurt, his Free Guy co-star Joe Keery was caught on camera more concerned with saving his drink than checking on his co-star. While Reynolds could be seen trying to avoid injury, Keery could be clearly seen prioritizing his beverage, a moment that Reynolds and Fallon joked about.

After the end of Stranger Things, fans have been buzzing about the possibility of Joe Keery joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). According to insider Daniel Richtman, Kevin Feige has been focusing on Jake Schrier’s X-Men reboot and looking towards casting major characters.

As Richtman reveals, Keery is one such actor who is being eyed for a role in the film. While Keery has been popular among fans as a fan-cast for Cyclops, it has not been revealed which character Feige is looking forward to casting him as.

After his co-star, Sadie Sink, has already been confirmed to make her MCU debut in Spider-Man: Brand New Day in an unrevealed role, Keery might soon follow in her footsteps if the rumors are true. If their casting does work out, we might even get to see them reunite on screen in the MCU long way down the road.

However, for now, these are all rumors, although fans have their fingers crossed.

Beyond Hollywood, Ryan Reynolds has been making headlines as co-owner of Welsh football club Wrexham AFC, and his team recently pulled off one of the most remarkable wins in its modern history.

On January 9, 2026, Wrexham stunned Premier League side Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup third round, drawing 3–3 after extra time before winning the match 4–3 on penalties. The result marked the first time Wrexham had beaten top-flight opposition in the FA Cup in 26 years, a moment that sparked wild celebrations both at the Racecourse Ground and online (via Mirror).

Wrexham’s goalkeeper, Arthur Okonkwo, was the hero of the night, saving two penalties in the shootout to secure progression to the fourth round.

Reynolds, who co-owns the club with Rob McElhenney, also brought his mother to witness the moment. While Wrexham has had a notable track record in the past, this marks the first time in 26 years that they faced off against a top-tier opposition team in the competition.

The team is now off to the fourth round of the FA Cup, where they are expected to face off against yet another top-tier team. If they manage to win the match, it will mark yet another historic win for the club that has been slowly building itself back up after past failure.

Well, what are your thoughts about Joe Keery possibly being cast in the MCU? Let us know in the comments below.

Stranger Things can be streamed on Netflix, while Free Guy is streaming on Disney+.
