Pluribus broke records and almost formed its own cult, showing up at the next convention. And while the audience desperately anticipates another season, its creator, the great Vince Gilligan, had some seemingly dull news. During the Santa Monica Barker Hangar press conference, the Emmy Award winner was asked about an update on the release schedule of Pluribus.
Detailing that his writers are already working on it, Gilligan added, per The Hollywood Reporter
It ain’t gonna be The Pitt, coming back every year. I wish it would be because it’s an awesome show that’s old-school, like we used to do The X-Files [when] we’d come back the same month every year. It will not be like The Pitt. We’ll come back the same month — just the question is what year.
Gilligan also mentioned that the writers have already begun working on the script for the next season, also adding, “We are deeper into the process at this moment than I would like, considering how few episodes we have figured out. But it takes some time, just as it did the first season.”
His reference to The Pitt may hurt series’ fans, but the hopes of Season 2 for Pluribus viewers have only gone down. Gilligan’s words don’t give a clear picture of the release year. However, we can expect Pluribus Season 2 to hit the screens in November.
It should be noted that while Pluribus was already announced to have two seasons, Gilligan, in an interview with Esquire, expressed his interest in having four seasons, stating, “seems like a good figure to me. It’d be good to get to around 40 episodes. That’d be nice.”
The mind-bending sci-fi entry stars Rhea Seehorn, Karolina Wydra, Carlos Manuel Vesga, and other highly acclaimed names.
The Pitt Season 3 Major Update: Release Window Explored

The Pitt has been gaining high traction on HBO. With its continued efforts and release with less gap between seasons, this is another series that has successfully formed a strong fan base. After the highly appreciated season 2 of The Pitt, all eyes are now on what happens in season 3.
Spilling the tea, HBO and Max content chief Casey Bloys stated (via Deadline),
I don’t know the exact date but yes, the idea is to keep it on an annual basis.
He further continued that a show like The Pitt is “One of the big goals.” Bloys also mentioned that it is important to bring such a series back annually.
In case you don’t know, The Pitt is from ER alumni R. Scott Gemmill and John Wells. The show in question stars Noah Wyle alongside Katherine LaNasa, Taylor Dearden, Patrick Ball, and others.
Season 2 of The Pitt was released on January 8, 2026.
Pluribus Original Ending Could Have Twisted Expectations in S2

The way the first season of the highly praised Pluribus concluded had everyone awestruck. While we are hoping to watch the second season, with a shocking season 1 ending in mind, the story was supposed to be a bit different.
In an exchange with Variety, director-writer-EP Gordon Smith and creator Vince Gilligan were asked to shed light on their original blueprint.
Sharing his side, Smith mentioned that although the original was similar to the ending we saw, “It was more subtle.”
Carol secretly forges a pact with Manousos, slips him a note and is perhaps going to play double agent. There wasn’t as much of a flag planted, like: “Nope, I’m not doing this. This relationship with the Others can’t continue.”
The director added. Further detailing, Gilligan stated, an atom bomb was not a part of the ending, nor was the open warfare idea. Per Gilligan, “It was, I’m going to continue to be a double agent. It was covert.”
