Revenge of the Savage Planet
You might assume that getting stranded on an alien solar system would be lonely for the protagonist of Revenge of the Savage Planet, but there’s rarely a moment of peace thanks to the wide variety of creatures populating each planet and biome.
As you explore each area and observe these creatures, you’ll start to realize that each of them has distinct personalities displayed through their behaviour. If you’ve wondered which creature you’re the most similar to, then it’s best to stick with the intergalactic theme of Savage Planet and look to the Zodiac starsigns for your answer.
12 Crusher — Aries
March 21 — April 19
While most of the creatures in Revenge of the Savage Planet aren’t too tough to take down after you’ve got a couple of upgrades, a species that will consistently cause trouble is the aggressive Crushers.
These lobster-like aliens are covered in a hard shell, making them tough to crack, and they’re always eager to lead other creatures into battle. While an Aries isn’t always as hostile as a Crusher, once they’re pushed, they’re just as unlikely to back down either.
11 Hognork — Taurus
April 20 — May 20
For the most part, the creatures you’ll come across on Stellaris Prime won’t attack your character unless you strike first, but a clear exception to this is the Hognork. Unlike the other creatures on this planet, there’s only one Hognork you’ll find, and it’s hard to forget once you’ve discovered it.
Hognorks are one of the strongest-willed species in Revenge of the Savage Planet, and you won’t even be able to scratch them unless you know exactly where their weak point is. Taurus’ have a similar tendency to be stoic and unshakable, even if they have some sore spots that are hidden under the surface.
10 Lurid Striped Puffer — Gemini
May 21 — June 20
One of the first creatures you’ll come across upon landing on the Quasadron IX is the standard Puffer, and like most of the early-planet creatures before it, there isn’t much to set it apart behaviour-wise. However, it has a rarer variant with a much more explosive personality.
The Lurid Striped Puffer has an unmissable pink coat of fur and a multicoloured horn. It often leads its fellow Puffers into battle if attacked, and once (inevitably) defeated, it’ll explode in a giant sparkly rainbow bang. While most Geminis aren’t as obnoxious as the Lurid Striped Puffer, their ability to light up a room when in the right mood makes them a good fit together.
9 Tatushkey — Cancer
June 21 — July 22
When exploring the vast plains of Quasadron IX, if your volume is high enough, you’ll be able to hear a faint scream moving in the distance. If you investigate further, you might have a chance at spotting the rapidly-moving Tatushkey.
These creatures seem to be in a constant state of overwhelmed hysteria, and you’ll need to specifically douse them in Ferro Goo to have a chance at slowing them down and getting a good look. Cancers can easily run away with their emotions, whether they’re good, bad, or something in between, making them a perfect fit for the Tatushkey.
8 Detonaton — Leo
July 23 — August 22
Zenithian Drift is easily the most dynamic planet you can explore in Revenge of the Savage Planet, and a big part of the reason why is how easy it is to be ambushed by creatures at any moment. A prime example of this is the raging Detonatons.
Often hiding in small caves, as soon as they sense company, they come out screaming, chasing after whoever is closest, and as soon as they’re within range, explode. Like Leos, Detonatons will make themselves the center of attention through any means necessary, even if it destroys the ground from underneath them while doing so.
7 Curadora — Virgo
August 23 — September 22
While the creatures in Revenge of the Savage Planet aren’t too much of a threat when they’re on their own, they become more of a challenge once they’re grouped. They stand an even better chance against you if they’re being supported by a Curadora.
These butterfly-like creatures will tether themselves to any creatures in a close enough vicinity, giving them a constant stream of healing power. While this helps the other creatures, it puts the Curadora right in the firing line, since without it, everyone else would fall apart. This self-sacrificial aspect is a common personality trait of Virgos, whether they’re aware of it or not.
6 Toxwin — Libra
September 23 — October 22
After finally getting to the top of a giant mountain in a video game, you’re usually expecting a beautiful view and a safe haven to reward your effort in getting up there. Still, of course, Revenge of the Savage Planet isn’t any game, and instead you’ll find yourself deep in Toxwin territory.
The toxic habitat of the strange three-eyed penguin mutant will deal constant poison damage to anyone unlucky enough to stumble in, and the Toxwins themselves will happily deal with any invaders to keep their den safe. The behaviour of the Toxwins reflects the instinctual sense of justice associated with Libras.
5 Raccocco — Scorpio
October 23 — November 21
Even though they are one of the first creatures you come across in Revenge of the Savage Planet, the Raccoccos are some of the more unpredictable creatures in the game. Sometimes they’re aggressive, sometimes they’re completely passive — it really depends on how they feel the moment they find you.
Once the Raccoccos have decided that they want to attack, they won’t stop at anything until you’re down, or they are. This intense passion, as well as a seemingly random perceptiveness are traits often found in Scorpios.
4 Brainard — Sagittarius
November 22 — December 21
The first sign of sentient life you’ll find after crash-landing on Stellaris Prime are the adorable Brainards. They’re just happily walking around the beach, but unfortunately, you need to harvest their carbon, and they’re very weak to a single kick from your character.
It’s easy to feel bad taking out these perfectly passive creatures, especially since they seem so stuck in their own little world. Sagittarius’ are notoriously cerebral, and can often end up being quiet without noticing, behaviour that closely aligns with the charming Brainard.
3 Savannah Eraffe — Capricorn
December 22 — January 19
Exploring the plains of Quasadron IX, there are plenty of creatures to discover, and most of them are pretty aggressive since this is the last main planet you unlock after all. Still, one species stands out as being strangely peaceful among the chaos: the Savannah Eraffe.
These calm giraffe-like creatures will happily graze in small groups, looking for food and just generally vibing. Capricorns tend to be similarly single-minded, and this focus on clear goals makes them relatively predictable, just like the chill Savannah Eraffe.
