After you unlock Dazzle Beach in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you’ll need to set out and gather Clay. It’s an essential resource for a number of crafting recipes and building materials, but it’s somewhat hard to find—and it’ll cost you a fair amount of Dreamlight if you want to farm it in every possible biome.

How to get Clay in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Clay is gathered by digging in muddy spots, usually found next to bodies of water, and the best place to look for it is in the Glade of Trust, to the south of Peaceful Meadow. It’s not a guaranteed drop, meaning you’ll need to dig a few times before you get any.
The Glade of Trust isn’t the only biome in DDV that can provide Clay as it’s possible to pick it up in Sunlit Plateau and the Forgotten Lands. We’d recommend opting for the Glade, though, as it’s the cheapest area to unlock with Dreamlight comparatively.
The first time you’ll come across Clay in Disney Dreamlight Valley is with the quest A Mysterious Wreck, which will become available once you’ve unlocked Dazzle Beach, found the Mysterious Paddle, and spoken to Goofy.
You’ll need to gather several items to help Goofy rebuild a little raft on the smaller island in the Dazzle Beach area. The required crafting resources can be seen in the table below.

To get the Clay required for this quest, all you need to do is head to one of the three listed regions and look for muddy areas next to bodies of water. When you find one, equip your shovel and get digging for a chance of finding the resource.
It’s worth bringing a foraging friend along with you, as finding 25 Clay will likely take a few passes of the area and having a buddy with this skill will help to speed up the process.
There are some areas in the Glade of Trust that also house Clay that aren’t near a body of water. If the area looks muddy and water-logged, you can find Clay there. Players will get two or three Clay each time they dig, meaning the quest with Goofy won’t take long to complete.
When you dig up Clay for the first time, you’ll unlock a number of crafting recipes like Bricks, Sun-Baked Earthen Road, and Flying Companion Feeder. It’s worth spending a few minutes farming up Clay while you’re in the area, as it’s always handy to have extra resources in your pocket.
