Creature Enamel can be easy to find in Subnautica 2, and once you know what you’re looking for, you’ll practically be tripping over it as you explore.

Once you know where to find it, Creature Enamel is one of those materials in Subnautica 2 that you can’t swim two feet without tripping over. If you don’t know what to look for, getting more Creature Enamel is a massive pain. Here’s where to find it.

You get Creature Enamel by mining the rocky growths with long white spines sticking out of them. You’ll only find these growths in the eastern region of the map, past the Collector Leviathan, around the Alien Ruins research outpost.

Establish a base near the outpost first, then venture east toward the large, golden, alien structures. You’re liable to find at least a few Enamel Growths starting on rocky cliffsides around 250 meters east of the Ruins.

Your Sonic Resonator is only liable to mine two or three units of Creature Enamel for each growth you destroy, so you’ll need to be judicious about how and when you use the material.

That said, in the shallower waters east and southeast of the research outpost, Enamel is almost impossible to miss. Even in the dark of night or in murky water, as long as you keep a lookout for the long, white spines coming out of the growths, you’ll be swimming in Creature Enamel in no time. Pun only half intended.

If you need help finding Creature Enamel, or just don’t feel like looking, set up a Scanner module in your base. So long as there’s a growth within a 300-meter radius of the Scanner, you’ll be able to track Enamel growths as a signal on your HUD.

Grabbing the Tadpole Haul Chassis is by far the best way to load up on any material in Subnautica 2, as you get a 30-slot cargo hold on top of your personal inventory. Sure, it’s slower and bulkier, but nothing beats a full inventory of that one thing you just couldn’t find before.
