Pearl Abyss’ creature- collecting, open world game has been AWOL at recent showcases. DokeV was first announced back in 2019, and since then, players have been watching for the latest on Pearl Abyss’ massive creature-collecting title. Summer Game Fest 2026 has come and gone, and it looks like DokeV was nowhere to be seen. DokeV was not at Summer Game Fest 2026. The game has been mysterious absent from many video game showcases following its reveal some seven years ago as Project V. However, Pearl Abyss hasn’t been entirely quiet about DokeV. In an interview with Eurogamer, Pearl Abyss said the game will release “around 18 months after Crimson Desert’s launch.” This places the release date somewhere in September 2027. Considering the size and scope of Crimson Desert, players have some high hopes for what they will be able to do inside DokeV’s universe. On May 12, 2026, Pearl Abyss released its 1Q26 Earnings Letter which offered the following information on DokeV’s production: Furthermore, DokeV and Plan 8, two new titles are in development. With the goal of maintaining a new title release cycle of every 2-3 years, we will prioritize resources on DokeV to accelerate development. In addition, DokeV is currently in the pre-production stage, and we will share updates as development progresses. While it’s unfortunate to not get any news about DokeV at Summer Game Fest 2026, it seems as though Pearl Abyss is still hard at work. Keep an eye on our DokeV page for more information.
