The big 3.0 update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is almost here, with the free content drop expected on January 15, 2026. Although the update is free, the special crossover characters and items related to Splatoon and The Legend of Zelda will require you to have at least three Amiibo figures on hand in order to unlock them. Each of the four characters unlocks with from specific Zelda and Splatoon Amiibo, but in the tables below we break it down for you.

Using any of the ing Amiibo figures will unlock the crossover furniture corresponding to them. For example, any of the ing Zelda Amiibo will unlock all the new Zelda-themed furniture and clothing options available with 3.0. These Splatoon and Zelda items will then show up in the «Promotional» tab of the Nook Shopping menu for you to purchase. This can be accessed from the Nook Stop ATM inside the Resident Services building.

All Zelda Furniture And Clothing Are Unlocked Using Any Of These Amiibo

One of the exciting features of the massive 3.0 update to ACNH is the chance to finally get The Legend of Zelda unlocks and characters in the game. Although we aren’t getting Epona back in our games, this time we get to meet two new Animal Crossing villagers: Mineru and Tulin, who are each based on the similarly named characters in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

As of the time of writing, there is no Mineru Amiibo, although it has been stated that an Amiibo called «Mineru’s Construct» is going to be released at some point in the future. Although it is not guaranteed, we assume that this Amiibo would then also unlock the Mineru villager in ACNH.

Which Amiibo Unlocks Cece Or Viché From Splatoon In ACNH

All Splatoon Furniture And Clothing Are Unlocked Using Any Of These Amiibo

Like the Zelda crossover above, Splatoon will also bring two villagers to Animal Crossing: New Horizons with this fun new crossover opportunity. Cece and Viché have actually already been Animal Crossing characters, having previously appeared in Animal Crossing: New Leaf — Welcome Amiibo, but with very different appearances.

In New Leaf, Cece resembled the Splatoon character Callie and Viché looked like Marie. However, for New Horizons, Cece has been designed to look like Shiver, while Viché resembles Frye.

The Big Man Amiibo for Splatoon is the only Amiibo figure here that can unlock more than one of the characters, being listed with both Cece and Viché. We presume that this means there will be a random chance of which villager will answer the call when this Amiibo is scanned. It is interesting to note that there are fewer options for Cece than there are for Viché or either Zelda villager.
