Who are the Pokemon Winds and Waves starters?

Meet Browt, Pombon, and Gecqua and figure which one you’re going to choose when Pokemon Winds and Waves come out!

A new mainline Pokemon game has been revealed, Pokemon Winds and Waves, and with it will come an all-new region of Pokemon to explore. However, every one of these journeys starts with a choice and Winds and Waves is no different. You’ll have to pick between three starter Pokemon. Thankfully, they’ve all been revealed and they’re all really cute. Want to know what you’re in for? Read on and learn about Browt, Pombon, and Gecqua!

Who are the Pokemon Winds and Wave Starters?

Browt — Grass

It would appear we’re getting another bird-like Grass-type starter in Winds and Waves. Browt is our Grass rep this time, and it seems like a grumpy little chickadee with its leaf brow sitting prominently on its forehead. It’s hard to imagine Browt doesn’t eventually get Flying as well, but we’ll see.

Pombon — Fire

The Fire rep for Pokemon Winds and Wave starters might be one of the cutest in a long time. It’s Pombon, who appears to be a fiery little Pomeranian. Pombon was shown inside of a volcano at one point during the reveal, so perhaps we could see fire and rock come together on this adorable fluff’s future evolutions?

Gecqua — Water

Gecqua is easily the most mysterious of the three starters for Pokemon Winds and Waves. Our Water rep this time is a gecko-like creature with big, expressive eyes. Given that Gecqua’s eyes were purple and it was shown in the boggy jungles, it’s not hard to imagine that maybe this Pokemon might dip into the Poison-type down the line.
