While P Diddy has already gotten away with his trial, his fellow rapper 50 Cent doesn’t seem to want to let him off the hook just yet. In his new documentary on Combs with Alex Stapleton, he seems to be looking forward to exposing the now-disgraced music mogul, as was made evident from the sneak preview of the series.

Titled Sean Combs: The Reckoning, the preview of this docuseries showed Sean Combs discussing with his lawyers and debating with them about their strategy in the case he has lost, and later appearing visibly disgusted after meeting, greeting, and shaking hands with fans. He was heard saying,

I need some hand sanitizer. I’ve been on the streets amongst people. Yeah, I gotta take a bath. Like, the amount of people that actually I’m coming into contact with? Yeah, that’s what I have to do. [Laughs] It’s like 150 hugs.

Meanwhile, Cent said about the documentary while talking to Good Morning America:

I think it was surprising that Diddy actually filmed it. […] That shows you his character. What are the odds that you’d do that in front of the camera? That’s one of the moments when he forgot that he was on tape [referring to Combs’ reaction after greeting his fans].

Plus, as Stapleton added, their series is “not completely the perspective of people that did not like Sean.” She emphasized that they were “not trying to just get the highlights, the salacious details.” Rather, their “real goal” was “to storytell,” and “not everyone needed to have an allegation to be a part of this project.”

Additionally, this four-part series also features two jurors from Combs’ trial, who are speaking up for the first time about how they reached their mixed verdict. For those who might not know, his trial verdict declared the rapper guilty of two prostitution charges as a result of his trial, but was of his more serious offences of of s-x trafficking and r-cketeering charges.

On October 3, he was sentenced to 50 months in prison (which is equal to four years and two months), which includes credit for the roughly 13 months that he had already spent in detention.

During his appearance with Alex Stapleton on Good Morning America, 50 Cent also addressed the question of his response to those who might say that this docuseries is a result of his reported beef with Combs, i.e., “more about the disdain that you have for Sean Combs than it is for giving the victims a platform.” The rapper candidly said,

What they consider pre-existing beef, right, for 20 years, is me being uncomfortable with him, suggesting that he takes me shopping or I looked at it like it was a tester. Like, ‘maybe you’ll come play with me’ type of thing, right? And it’s not personal.

Continuing, he also touched down on whether the Hip-Hop culture was also on trial as much as Combs was. Cent said,

No, not at all. Look, if I didn’t say anything, you would interpret it as ‘the Hip-Hop is fine with his behaviors.’ There’s no one else being vocal. So you would look at it and just say, because that ‘mind your business’ or ‘let me not say nothing about nothing’ or those things. It would allow the entire culture to register as if they’re for that behavior.

Finally, he also shared what he feels P Diddy’s reaction would be after watching this docuseries about him that has been executively produced by 50 Cent. Chuckling, he said,

Like, wow, this is amazing. I think he’s going to say this is the best documentary I’ve seen in a long time. Because you’ll see people saying that. He may feel different about pieces and bits of it, but he knows the truth.

Needless to say, that sounds like something big is headed toward Diddy, and he might as well brace himself for it. As for the audience’s reaction to it? Well, some fans are already reacting to the preview with mixed arguments.

50 Cent made it clear that his reason behind releasing this Netflix documentary about Combs is that, as a prominent figure in the Hip-Hop community, he felt it was necessary to address the situation openly and make it clear that the culture does not condone this kind of behavior.

However, amidst his supporters, some fans are still coming against him for creating this docuseries about P Diddy out of their reported beef. Thus, here’s a look at some of the mixed reactions that this docuseries is getting on X:

For those who might not know, decades of tension have surrounded Cent’s relationship with Diddy over the years.

As for how Netflix acquired that never-before-seen footage of Combs: While Diddy’s publicist said in a statement that the video was never authorized for release, the streaming giant maintains that it obtained the video legally and has the necessary rights for it (via NBC News).
