Will Arnett has revealed that a “very famous” comedian he branded an “a–hole” was kicked off his SmartLess podcast.
Arnett appeared on comedian Romesh Ranganathan’s podcast to promote his new movie Is This Thing On?, with the pair discussing the topic of podcasts and Arnett’s SmartLess show, which he co-hosts alongside Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes.
During the conversation, Arnett revealed that SmartLess had hosted a comedian guest so terrible that they ended the show early.
“One other very famous comedian, who is a rank a–hole, recently, we cut him off after 10 minutes and said ‘thank you so much,’ then ditched him,” Arnett explained.
He added that Ranganathan would be “blown away” by who the individual was, before joking that it was shamed former comedian Bill Cosby.
Arnett didn’t name names, though informed Ranganathan that he’d let him know the identity of the offending comedian after the podcast had ended.

Will Arnett reveals yet another difficult comedian SmartLess guest
Additionally, Will Arnett noted that another SmartLess guest had proven to be difficult for him and his co-hosts. The actor revealed that a comedian had asked them to “not air her episode” due to her being up-and-coming on the comedy scene. However, Arnett didn’t reveal if they eventually aired the episode, or if it was canceled altogether.
This isn’t the only time the SmartLess podcast has been in the news recently. Though Arnett didn’t appear on the episode, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes’ podcast with Charli XCX proved to be controversial, after the duo questioned her lack of desire to have children. Bateman, in particular, received a lot of backlash for his comments during the episode, with him suggesting the singer hadn’t found the right person to have kids with, before she made it clear that she is married.
