Few shows in recent years have defined a generation quite like HBO’s Euphoria. Since its debut in 2019, the teen drama show has built a reputation for pushing boundaries, and now it is returning after a long four-year hiatus.

While fans are elated to see how the characters have been getting along, there is a buzz of curiosity about whether we will get to see a fourth season. The answer, at least for now, is complicated.

Here’s everything we know about Season 4 of Euphoria and what Sam Levinson and Zendaya have said about it.

Unfortunately, creator Sam Levinson has made it increasingly clear that he is not actively planning a fourth season. While on the red carpet for the Euphoria Season 3 premiere, he told Variety that his priority is to finish the story properly rather than extend it indefinitely.

Levinson revealed that he writes every season as if it were the last, and for now, his only priority is to deliver the third season as best he can.

I want to finish this as strong as I can. I’m cutting [Episodes] 7 and 8 still. I’m putting some finishing touches. I just want to deliver a fucking slam dunk season.

Furthermore, Francesca Orsi, the head of drama for HBO, revealed to Deadline that it has already been discussed that the upcoming season is the end.

We’ve talked about it, I don’t think anything is over until it’s over, but it’s been discussed that this is the end. I think you will be very satisfied with this season and how we bring each of the characters’ whole narrative.

This time, the show deals with even deeper themes of faith, loss, and redemption, especially in light of the tragic deaths of cast members Angus Cloud (Fezco) and Eric Dane (Cal Jacobs), who passed away in February 2026.

Zendaya Hints Euphoria Season 3 is the Closure

Zendaya, who has grown into a global powerhouse since the show first aired, echoed that Euphoria might be ending during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show

When asked point-blank if Season 3 would be the end of the road, she replied, “I think so, yeah.” The actress also emphasized that closure is coming, suggesting that the five-year time jump in Season 3 allows the characters to settle their high school ghosts.

The Emmy-winning star went on to say that the show cracked her heart open and that the crew has essentially seen her grow up, making this season feel like a graduation for the actors as well as the characters. While she is grateful for all of it and everything Rue has taught her, it seems Zendaya is ready to move on.

Well, her comments paint a clear picture that while nothing has been officially canceled or confirmed, the creative team is approaching it as an ending. Despite these strong signals, Euphoria Season 4 has not been officially ruled out.

For now, HBO has not issued a formal cancellation or a final-season announcement, leaving the door slightly open.
