Review
Spoiler alert: The ing article contains spoilers from Will Trent season 3, episode 17, «Why Hello, Sheriff.»
Even though Will and Angie are one of Will Trent‘s most important dynamics, their romance might officially be over after season 3, episode 17’s surprise twist. The two characters have had an up-and-down relationship throughout the ABC police procedural show’s three seasons (which is putting it mildly). Will and Angie met when they were kids in the foster care system. They quickly became close and, over time, their friendship turned romantic. Unfortunately, thanks to various traumas and heartbreaking circumstances, Will and Angie could never get the timing right, resulting in numerous breakups and reunions over the years.
Erika Christensen (who plays Angie) directed Will Trent season 3, episode 17, «Why Hello, Sheriff,» while Karine Rosenthal and Jordan Pope wrote it.
ing the Will Trent season 2 finale, Will and Angie struggled to pick up the broken pieces of their relationship in season 3. Angie made it clear that, after Will arrested her, they couldn’t be lovers ever again. However, both remained hopeful that they could regain their friendship, given how important they are to one another. By the end of Will Trent season 3, Will and Angie have formed a (somewhat) stable platonic dynamic. In the wake of episode 17’s game-changing development, though, Will and Angie’s chances of rekindling their romance are about zero to none.
Angie Discovers She's Pregnant In Will Trent Season 3, Episode 17
Seth Tells Angie The Big News
Will Trent season 3, episode 17 reveals the shocking news that Angie is pregnant with Seth’s baby. As many will remember, episode 16 ended with Angie, drunk in a bar, trying to break up a fighting couple (right after flushing her mother’s ashes down the public restroom, mind you). They turned on the Will Trent main character, though, and started beating her up. Flash-forward to episode 17 — the hour begins with Angie in the hospital. Unfortunately, for her, Seth is the attending physician, meaning he has to look at her chart and check her out before she can go home.
Angie’s Will Trent season 3 love interest is supportive, as she remains speechless, completely flabbergasted by this huge development.
Angie wanted to sneak out of the hospital before Seth’s shift. However, that isn’t the case, meaning Angie has to come clean about the fact that she had been drinking. She tells her boyfriend the truth about her relapse and her mother’s death, and he’s quite supportive of her. Then, Seth drops something that most (including Angie) probably didn’t see coming — Angie is pregnant. He tells her, «Unless I’m mistaken, in which case now would be a good time to let me know, I had something to do with it.»
Angie’s Will Trent season 3 love interest is supportive, as she remains speechless, completely flabbergasted by this huge development. He admits that he has feelings about Angie being pregnant, but insists that «they don’t decide what happens next.» Seth, in doctor mode, also tells her that if she chooses to have the baby, she must stop drinking. As «the man who loves [her],» Seth assures Angie that he’ll be there for her no matter what. Unfortunately, the couple gets interrupted, and Will Trent season 3, episode 17 ends before Angie and Seth can discuss the pregnancy further.
Angie's Pregnancy Can Be The Final Nail In The Coffin For Her & Will's Reunion Hopes
Angie Still Hasn't Decided What She Wants
ing the events of «Why Hello, Sheriff,» it’s unknown what Angie plans to do next. The entire situation is quite complicated for her. Angie just lost her mother in Will Trent season 3, episode 15, and now she is faced with the possibility of becoming a mother herself. It also doesn’t help that Angie’s mom was incredibly abusive. However, if Angie decides to go through with the pregnancy, this might be the end of the road for Will and Angie (at least, on a romantic level).

Seth promises Angie he’ll be by her side, whatever she decides, and even tells her he loves her in episode 17. Based on this revelation, it seems like Seth wants to stay with Angie. So, if Angie feels the same way and ends up having the baby (and Seth survives the Will Trent season 3 finale), her and Seth’s relationship could be in for the long haul. It’s a giant step, after all. As a result, fans might have to accept that the odds of a Will and Angie reunion are quite low, maybe even impossible.
How Can Will Trent Continue To Use Angie Despite Not Getting Back With Will
Will & Angie Can Still Be Platonic Soulmates
Angie’s role in Will Trent isn’t dependent on her relationship with Will. She has had many stories that have nothing to do with him, and she’s so much more than a love interest. So, if Will and Angie’s romance is over for good, Angie will continue to play a significant part in the ABC police procedural series in upcoming seasons. Regarding Angie’s character, Will Trent season 4 could explore her pregnancy storyline, the future of her relationship with Seth, more of her traumatic past, (hopefully) her recovery, and so much more.
