The anime adaptation of Satoru Nii’s manga, Wind Breaker, concluded its second season last year. Unfortunately, the production committee has not yet issued any official announcement regarding a third season.
However, the manga continues to follow the students of Furin High School. Given how much story remains to be adapted, the potential of Season 3 is high. Let’s dive into the potential of Season 3, along with what story would be adapted if it were to get one.
Wind Breaker Season 3 Renewal Chances

Wind Breaker Season 2 was one of the best anime in Spring 2025, hence he probability of Wind Breaker receiving a third season is high. Anime renewals are calculated using specific metrics: television viewership in Japan, international streaming numbers, and subsequent manga sales. Wind Breaker performs consistently well across these categories.
On IMDb, the anime maintains strong user ratings, which indicates high audience retention. The first two seasons established a fan base that directly translated into increased manga circulation during the second season, satisfying the primary goal of most anime adaptations.

The completion of Season 2 leaves the story unfinished, with the story left in the middle of ongoing manga events. Animation producers rarely abandon highly rated projects when sufficient, profitable source material is readily available. The financial data and audience reception support the production of Season 3.
What Manga Arcs Could Be In Season 3?

Season 2 adapted the manga up to the conclusion of Umemiya’s Backstory Arc. This corresponds to Chapter 97, titled “Hajime Umemiya’s Ambition Arc 2”. This was one of the most interesting arcs because, initially, he was supposed to be the main character. A third season will begin adapting the storylines immediately after this chapter.
Satoru Nii has published over 200 chapters, providing enough content to fill multiple future seasons. And there are many potential arcs that Satoru Nii can still write, such as giving us the background of Suo.
Following the backstory, Season 3 will likely cover the Noroshi War Arc. This is the largest continuous conflict within the manga to date. It begins at Chapter 99 with the “Strategy Meeting” and extends through Chapter 168.
The exact Season 3 endpoint will depend on the total episode count. A standard 12 or 13-episode season would likely conclude at the climax of the Noroshi War Arc. A 24-episode season would cover the Summer Break Arc completely.
