Utter confusion
A bizarre incident at a Trader Joe’s store in Washington, D.C., has gone viral on TikTok after a woman was seen chasing another customer and her dog out of the store. In the initial clip, the woman who later shared the videos could be seen checking out at the register when another woman suddenly began screaming at her. Accompanied by a dog, the woman aggressively chased her through the store and out the front entrance, continuing to yell as the customer hurried away. The confrontation did not end there. In another clip, the woman who had been chased could be seen standing on the opposite side of the road, looking visibly confused, while the other woman continued shouting at her from a distance, rambling about Donald Trump as president.

In a follow-up TikTok, the woman shared her account of what happened. She explained that she was already paying for her items when the stranger unexpectedly approached her, yelling while the dogs barked. Although she immediately walked out of the store to avoid the confrontation, she claimed the woman continued following her outside. She added that she looked around in hopes that someone would intervene, but everyone nearby appeared just as confused about the situation as she was. According to her, the woman repeatedly shouted “Trump” along with several other things that were difficult to understand.
The TikTok creator also explained that she initially had no intention of making a bigger issue out of the incident. However, she later received a message from another shopper who claimed to have witnessed what happened and apologized for not helping her out. After sharing the message, the woman said it helped her better understand what may have been happening. She emphasized that she did not want to exploit the situation for attention and instead expressed hope that the woman involved receives the help she may need.
Social Media Users Found The Incident Both Strange And Amusing
As the videos gained traction, many viewers commented on how surreal the encounter appeared. “It’s like a scene from a movie,” one user wrote. Others sympathized with the woman who was chased, saying they wished someone had stepped in to help. “I’m so confused why she is rushing to follow you,” another commenter remarked. Several users also pointed out that even store employees and security personnel appeared caught off guard by the confrontation. Others wondered whether the incident had been reported to Trader Joe’s corporate office.
Not everyone interpreted the situation the same way. One commenter suggested, “I don’t think it had anything to do with you. I think she was being escorted out and you were just in front of her.” The conversation also shifted toward the use of Meta smart glasses after some viewers noticed the recording method. While one user found it strange that people record others using the glasses, another argued that the technology has been invaluable for documenting incidents and even assisting in legal cases.
Some commenters focused instead on the presence of dogs inside the store. “So they both have dogs in the store? Well deserved attention for both,” one user wrote, suggesting that both parties shared some responsibility for the unusual situation.
