X has introduced a brand new feature for users to reply with, allowing them to share their thoughts and reactions through a short reaction video.

We’ve seen it on various social media platforms like TikTok when users react to certain videos by interposing themselves over the clip and sharing their thoughts or adding to the joke. They help users correct mistakes, react to a certain image, introduce a new talking point, or just create new content off the back of another for funnier results.

Well, now X is introducing a similar feature, letting you share your thoughts on any tweet by recording yourself in a short video.

Users can now react to X posts with short videos

The new feature, labelled “React with Video,” was announced by X Head of Product Nikita Bier, who shared a demonstration showing how users can repost a post and record a video response at the same time.

According to Bier, users can choose between several layouts, including green screen, split screen, and picture-in-picture modes, giving them multiple ways to interact with the original content.

“Commentary is one of the most important pillars of X. And sometimes the best way to share your thoughts is with video,” Bier explained while showcasing the feature.

This marks a major shift for X and their push for more video content, giving creators and users another way to engage with trending posts, news stories, memes, and more.

At launch, React with Video is only available on iOS devices. X has not yet confirmed when the feature will expand to Android users.
