‘You Guys Are Hurting Us’: New York Woman Interrupts Creator’s Outfit Video With Neighborhood Rant

Nothing was stopping her from hitting those angles.

A New York creator says she was quietly filming an outfit video on a public sidewalk when an older woman approached and launched into a confusing rant about outsiders hurting the neighborhood. While most commenters were impressed by how calmly the creator handled the confrontation, others argued the woman may have had a point about people using residential neighborhoods as content backdrops.

Posted to TikTok by @roseeelo, the creator explains in on-screen text that she was “filming a video of my outfit in silence” with her tripod set “way off to the side of a very wide sidewalk” when the woman approached.

It’s a historic neighborhood. It’s got different rules,” the woman tells her before arguing that people drawing large crowds put a strain on police and community resources. “You guys are hurting us,” she says. Rose, meanwhile, doesn’t stop posing.

Throughout the exchange, Rose offers little more than the occasional “I’m sorry,” continuing her video as if nothing were happening. According to her caption, the woman also told her to “go back where I came from,” despite Rose saying she actually lives around the block.

New York Viewers Chime In

The New York TikToker’s composure quickly became one of the biggest talking points in the comments. Many viewers were impressed that she never stopped filming despite the woman’s rant.”Absolute power move to continue what you were doing, love it queen,” one person wrote. Another added, “Slaying even with her background noise.”

Others couldn’t make sense of what the woman was discussing in the first place.”What is she even talking about,” one viewer asked. Some even joked that the creator’s outfit deserved more attention than the confrontation itself.“I know you’re dealing with a lot right now but where did you get those jeans?” one commenter wrote.

Not everyone was laughing along, though.”I’m confused how no one in the comments is clocking that this woman who has obviously lived in the area for years is concerned with the influx of people who treat the neighborhood like a playground for the rich and not a community,” one viewer wrote.

Another agreed, writing, “She has a point tho. She lives in the area.” A few commenters also questioned whether the interaction should have been labeled “Karen” behavior at all.”Can we please stop calling everyone a Karen. She might have mental health issues bc as you say you don’t know what she was talking about,” one person commented.

While viewers couldn’t quite make sense of the woman’s outburst, the comment section was much more united in praising Rose’s unbothered energy.
