Prime Video has shared the official trailer for Young Sherlock, its newest action mystery series from director Guy Ritchie. This marks the filmmaker’s latest project about the iconic detective, after previously directing Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law in Warner Bros. Pictures’ Sherlock Holmes movies. The 8-episode show will debut on March 4, 2026.
“When a charismatic, youthfully defiant Sherlock Holmes meets none other than James Moriarty, he finds himself dragged into a murder investigation that threatens his liberty. Sherlock’s first ever case unravels a globe-trotting conspiracy, leading to an explosive showdown that alters the course of his life forever,” reads the show’s official synopsis. “Unfolding in a vibrant Victorian England and adventuring abroad, the series will expose the early antics of the anarchic adolescent who is yet to evolve into Baker Street’s most renowned resident.”

What happens in the Young Sherlock trailer?
The video introduces Hero Fiennes Tiffin as the titular character, who suddenly becomes a fugitive after being accused of murder and larceny. It teases the young detective’s first case as he tries to prove his innocence with the help of an unlikely ally in the form of his future nemesis, James Moriarty. The trailer also highlights some of the action-packed challenges he’ll face during his investigation.
Young Sherlock Holmes is written and executive-produced by showrunner Matthew Parkhill, with Ritchie serving as its director. The ensemble cast also includes Dónal Finn (The Wheel of Time), Zine Tseng (3 Body Problem), Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid’s Tale), Natascha McElhone (Halo), Max Irons (Condor), and Colin Firth (The King’s Speech). Executive producers are Ritchie, Dhana Rivera Gilbert, Marc Resteghini, Simon Maxwell, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Kelton, Colin Wilson, Harriet Creelman, and Steve Thompson. It is a production by Motive Pictures.
