Much like Pokemon, while Yu-Gi-Oh might have become famous for its trading cards, in the almost-30 years since its inception, it has become a heck of a lot more, spanning anime, video games, movies, and more. That more includes Funko Pops, and during this year’s Anime Expo, you’ll be able to pick up a new figure that turns one of its most iconic cards into a very different type of collectible.
TheGamer can exclusively reveal that the next Yu-Gi-Oh monster/card to be transformed into a Funko Pop will be Elemental Hero: Shining Flare Wingman. The powerful card has been a part of both the TCG and its accompanying anime for almost 20 years, and starting next month, you will be able to add a figure based on its iconic design to your Funko Pop collection, or to sit right in the middle of a Yu-Gi-Oh collection if Funko Pops aren’t usually your thing.
Although Shining Flare Wingman’s design has been tweaked slightly so that it can fit the conventions of a Funko Pop, everything you would expect to be incorporated into its look is there to make sure it is unmistakably the Elemental Hero Yu-Gi-Oh fans are familiar with. The Pop’s design includes the red jewel in the center of the monster’s head, the gold plate on its right arm, and even though the figure’s majestic wings are pointing downward, it has still been made to look like it’s flying.

An Anime Expo Exclusive, But You Won't Need To Be There To Get One
Funko does that with characters that can do so by attaching them to a translucent stand, and that feature is a part of the Wingman Pop’s design. The figure is a standard Funko one, which means it will be a little less than five inches tall and cost $15, the new standard for regular-sized Funko Pops.
The Wingman Pop will also have a metallic finish, as you can see in the images above.
The Elemental Hero: Shining Flare Wingman Funko Pop will be an Anime Expo 2025 exclusive, and it will have an AX sticker on the box to represent that. However, as is the case with other convention-exclusive Funko Pop releases, you will be able to buy it through Funko’s website when it drops during Anime Expo weekend, which begins on July 3, 2025.
There will almost certainly be more Anime Expo exclusive Funko Pops revealed between now and when this year’s convention begins next month. Earlier this year, One Piece’s Nami and Pokemon’s Suicune were part of a much bigger rollout of WonderCon exclusive Funko Pops.
