9-Year-Old Driver Has Car Accident, Colorado Mother Claims Police Did Nothing About It: ‘That propane tank could’ve exploded’

Well, that kid’s grounded

A Colorado woman was left speechless when she saw something astounding on her Blink camera: an accident unfolding before her very eyes. It was a minor car accident, but what she didn’t expect to see is a literal child getting out of the vehicle afterward.

Neighbor’s 9 year old kid was playing around in her car while she was asleep and drove it into my blackstone and pushed it into our other neighbor’s truck. Local cops say its not a big deal and didn’t make a report. Told me in a very condescending tone that “accidents happen and I’m sure you made mistakes as a mother before” Excuse me, I have 3 kids and not once did they drive a car into someone else’s property… You can’t make this shit up.

Shianne shared the Blink footage on her TikTok account, Shiannemariediaz, along with additional information and context. A white sedan comes into the scene, striking her Blackstone grill and pushing it across the driveway. The vehicle and grill then slam into her neighbor’s pickup truck. You can hear someone screaming during and after the car accident.

That was the driver. A 9-year-old boy gets out of the vehicle from the driver’s side and screams all the way back to his house. According to Shianne, the child’s mother was asleep and didn’t know he had left. He allegedly started the vehicle himself, causing the crash, but was incredibly lucky the incident wasn’t far more serious.

To make matters worse, according to Shianne, when the police arrived, they didn’t seem to think it was a big deal. She said they “didn’t make a report.” On top of that, Shianne said a cop told her, “I’m sure you’ve made mistakes as a mother before” in a condescending tone. But as Shianne mentioned, “I have 3 kids and not once did they drive a car into someone else’s property.”

Viewers Insist Shianne Push the Matter and Get CPS Involved

Despite the driver being none other than a kid who hasn’t even reached double-digits, people in the comment section of Shianne’s TikTok video suggested pushing the matter to her insurance company. Many argued if the police wouldn’t do anything then, as one commenter put it, her homeowner’s insurance “will make sure the neighbor is held responsible.”

Others interjected, arguing Shianne’s insurance shouldn’t be the one footing the bill. “The issue is the police department not making the correct report!” a viewer wrote.

One commenter didn’t think Shianne would have any issues going forward with insurance. “Well at least you have clear proof to send to the insurance companies.” Another TikTok user suggested taking it furhter by adding, “And CPS.” Shianne liked the comment on TikTok.

“That propane tank could’ve exploded..boom dead kid. like where’s mom??” one commenter asked. Shianne claimed the mother was “mad” when she was woken up to learn what had happened.

At this time, Shianne has not posted any additional videos or what became of her insurance claim. And while accidents do happen, that isn’t reserved for children driving vehicles unattended.
