AEW star Kyle O’Reilly had fans and commentators obsessed after pulling a Nintendo Entertainment System out of a backpack during a match and destroying his opponents with it.

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has never shied away from over-the-top moments, with the promotion regularly embracing chaotic matches, bizarre weapons, and plenty of comedy alongside its hard-hitting action.

Kyle O’Reilly has become one of the company’s most entertaining stars thanks to his mix of technical wrestling and offbeat humor, often finding creative ways to get under his opponents’ skin. During a recent steel cage match, however, he took things to another level by bringing an entire Nintendo Entertainment System into the ring.

Kyle O’Reilly turns NES into the ultimate wrestling weapon

Early in the match, O’Reilly reached into his backpack and stunned both the crowd and the commentary team by pulling out a classic Nintendo Entertainment System, complete with controllers and a game cartridge to destroy his opponents with.

As the match continued, O’Reilly dug out the NES controllers and handed one to his teammate before the pair started whipping their opponents with the controller cords, turning the iconic gaming accessories into unlikely wrestling weapons.

The duo then took things a step further by using the controllers together to clothesline one of their opponents, creating a hilarious finishing move.

To end the match, he reached back into the backpack to reveal an NES game cartridge. In a nod familiar to anyone who grew up with the console, he dramatically blew into the cartridge before sliding it into the NES as if he was trying to get it working.

But instead of firing up a game, he simply smashed the cartridge and console over his opponent’s head, ending the match in a hilarious manner.

Of course, fans and the commentators adored the creative use of the retro console, with many joking: “You know that thing is still gonna work after all that” and others claiming the cartridge must have been “REAL LIFE Smash Bros.”

Wrestling has no end to its wacky weapons, but this retro console has to be one of the wildest ways to win a match.
