P.F. Chang's
P.F. Chang’s is turning sushi into a tableside spectacle with a giant Sushi Boat that arrives in a cloud of dry ice.
The limited-time menu item is part of the restaurant chain’s new Summer in Tokyo promotion, which runs through September 15 and introduces a selection of Japanese-inspired sushi, entrees and cocktails at participating locations across the US.
According to the restaurant, the Sushi Boat is designed for sharing and includes chilled edamame, a California Roll, a Shrimp Tempura Roll, plus a choice of two additional rolls from Spicy Tuna, Dynamite Shrimp or Kung Pao.
Sushi boats have long been used by some sushi restaurants as a theatrical way to serve large platters of sushi, particularly for groups. However, P.F. Chang’s has put its own spin on it by adding dry ice designed to make the fishy vessel even more of a spectacle.

The Summer in Tokyo menu also introduces three new hand rolls, including California, Spicy Tuna and Shrimp Tempura, alongside Japanese Philly, Tiger and Smoking Kung Pao Dragon specialty rolls.
Outside of sushi, diners can also order dishes including NY Prime Strip Steak Tataki, Oolong Chilean Sea Bass, Lobster & Prawn Fried Rice and Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice. Meanwhile, the seasonal menu is rounded out with a new Paper Crane cocktail and Sapporo Lager.

To promote the launch, P.F. Chang’s has also teamed up with Below Deck stars Captain Sandy Yawn and Aesha Scott, who appear in a promotional video featuring the Sushi Boat.

The Summer in Tokyo menu is available for dine-in at participating P.F. Chang’s China Bistro restaurants until September 15. Airport restaurants, international locations, Puerto Rico, P.F. Chang’s To Go and Pagoda Asian Grill locations are excluded from the promotion.
