British YouTuber Angryginge revealed that his mother’s home burnt down, killing her two pet cats and a rabbit.
The YouTuber, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, shared the news via his Instagram stories on Sunday, May 31, 2026. This was the same day as Soccer Aid, UNICEF’s annual celebrity football event for charity, in which he participated alongside stars like Olly Murs and Tom Hiddleston.
His mother had traveled to London to watch him play, and wasn’t in the house at the time of the fire. However, three of her pets had been left behind due to her travels, who all perished in the blaze.
In a short statement, he alerted fans that he would not be streaming that night due to a “major family issue,” saying he needed to “be with the family and make sure everything is okay.”

Burtwistle shared a video from inside his mother’s house the next day, showing himself clad in a facemask and gloves as he assessed damage.
“Everyone is assuming or guessing someone has passed away. They’ve not, so that’s a good thing,” he told fans. “As you can tell, you wouldn’t think it, but right now I am in my mum’s house.”
The YouTuber explained that he’d gotten a call about the situation on the morning of Soccer Aid, confirming that he would give his concerned viewers more updates as investigations and recovery progresses.
“This isn’t even the worst of the worst,” he said. “I’ll keep you all updated and I’ll be live whenever I can go live.”

“Unbelievable cats and rabbits, they were,” he told his fans. “So cute. Obviously, I lived with them when I lived with my mum. …they didn’t make it out.
“The main thing is that my mum is okay. …if my mum was in the house, she wouldn’t have made it out. I suppose that’s the fortunate thing, that she wasn’t there.”
Fans are showing an outpouring of support online in the wake of this devastating news, with the YouTuber promising more updates as the situation unfolds.
