‘Bored’ HOA Karens Tell New Nevada Homeowner Her Condo Doesn’t Exist as She Tries to Move In: ‘We Just Got Scammed and You Said It’s Hilarious?’

Already dealing with the Karens at her new home

A woman and her family picked up their lives and moved to Nevada. However, when they got there, they ran into a little drama from the “HOA Karens.” As this TikToker says, a group of women told them their condo didn’t actually exist, leaving them worried and fuming.

Ellie (@ellierichards937) posted a video of what happened when she and her family pulled up to their new HOA condo. According to Ellie, they moved across the country to a new condo in Las Vegas. However, when they arrived, a group of women in charge of the HOA tried to convince them their condo “didn’t exist.” She gave them the number and they told her she and her family were “scammed.”

In the video, Ellie pans the camera to two women who clearly know each other in the HOA. They’re laughing and cracking jokes with each other. One of them, who told Ellie she was scammed, then stops and acknowledges Ellie. Ellie asks the woman if she’s okay and tries to say they have all their belongings with them and just want to find their condo. She then asks the Karen, “We just got scammed and you said it’s hilarious?” The woman tries to deny this but Ellie heard her say it. She then tells the woman to “get out of her face” and calls the woman “bored.”

Commenters immediately shared their reactions on Ellie’s initial video, shocked by how she and her family were treated in their new neighborhood. One commenter suggested, “You can report harassing behavior to the HOA management company. Be sure to document everything like this.” Another stated that Ellie “handled it like a queen.”

The situation got even more annoying for Ellie and her family, though. In a part 2, she shows what happened next. The women, obviously offended by their treatment from Ellie, went and got their husbands. Then, the husbands had a “fake board meeting” in front of Ellie and her family while they waited to find their correct condo. Ellie took the opportunity to hand all of her paperwork to the man in charge. She just wanted to figure out where her and her family were going to live and call home.

Commenters continued to be surprised by her treatment in her new neighborhood. The video sparked reactions from many, who shared their opinions on HOA neighborhoods. As one commenter mentioned on her part 2 video, “So sorry for y’all. I’d rather have a 1/2 acre of land with a mobile home on it than any place with an HOA and neighbors 4’ apart.”
