How to get the Feedback Resonator in Subnautica 2

The Feedback Resonator is key to the endgame of Subnautica 2’s early access content. Here’s how to get it.

The Feedback Resonator is an invaluable endgame device in Subnautica 2, but like any endgame item, getting it is neither easy nor safe. Like any other tool in the game, you need to scan ruined parts for the blueprint, and some of these are in the deepest depths. Here’s where to find them.

To get the Feedback Resonator in Subnautica 2, you need to find two parts and scan them. The first of these is in a piece of spaceship debris about 770 meters east-southeast of the research outpost labeled Alien Ruins.

Approach the ruins from the west, enter through the door, then look immediately to your left.

The bent, golden device is the part you need to scan for one half of the Resonator blueprint.

To find the second one, you’ll first need the Tadpole Depth Module, itself about 300 meters southeast of the Alien Ruins. It’s near one of the parts for the Tadpole Haul Chassis, in a cave system.

Travel east from the Ruins, and you’ll pass a large cave system on your right. If you’re not yet 300 meters away from the research base, keep going. NoA might send you here to find a black box from Ruby.

Look for a large cave mouth beneath a small set of platforms leaning off the side of a cliff. You need to swim down into the cave personally, as the crush depth of your Tadpole is only 250 meters, and the Module recipe is at least 40 meters below that depth. Head down into the cave and turn north.

When you encounter the wreck of a Tadpole with its bright red interior, look for a data module near it. Grab the blueprint from it and return to your base, because it’s time to craft. The Depth Module takes three Celestine, two Enamelled Glass, and one System Chip to create.

With the Module installed, you need to go directly east down to a depth of about 420 meters and reach a distance of almost 900 meters from the Alien Ruins outpost.

There, you’ll find a rare sight: an alcove filled with purple-white light from mushrooms growing near the seabed.

At the back of this alcove, sitting on the seafloor, is the second Feedback Resonator part. Once again, return to your base for some crafting.

To craft the Feedback Resonator, you first need a Modification Station, then the following:

  • A base Sonic Resonator
  • Two units of Enamelled Glass
  • Two units of Conduit Crystal
  • Two Strontium Ingots

Provide all that, and your Sonic Resonator will automatically convert into a Feedback Resonator. It now creates a condensed sphere of water when charged that you can fire, allowing you to mine from a distance, as well as hit those pesky Angel Comb blooms that hide in their shells.
