McDonald’s has already teamed up with everything from blockbuster movies to huge gaming franchises, but its latest reported crossover might be one of the strangest yet.
The fast food company has been no stranger to high-profile collaborations in recent months, like The World Cup, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Pokemon, and even Dobble at the beginning of the year. Well, now, it looks like another crossover could be on the way, and this one pairs two franchises few people would have expected to see together.
According to a new leak, the fast food giant is preparing a SpongeBob SquarePants x One Piece Happy Meal, with seven mashup toys that combine characters from both beloved series into one collection.
SpongeBob x One Piece McDonald’s Happy Meal
As shared by reliable leaker Snackolator, McDonald’s is reportedly working on “a new group of Happy Meal toys that feature SpongeBob SquarePants characters combined with One Piece.”
The leak claims there will be at least seven toys available, although Snackolator noted there could end up being more.
The reported lineup includes:
- SpongeBob x Luffy
- Plankton x Usopp
- Squidward x Sanji
- Mrs. Puff x Linlin (Big Mom)
- Gary x Chopper
- Larry x Franky
- Mr. Krabs x Jinbe
Rather than simply featuring characters from both series separately, each toy fuses a SpongeBob character with a One Piece pirate, creating some rather unusual combinations.

SpongeBob takes on Luffy’s iconic straw hat and outfit, Squidward becomes the chef Sanji, while Gary is transformed into Chopper, complete with the reindeer’s signature hat as his shell.
Perhaps the strangest pairing is Mrs. Puff dressed as Big Mom, while Larry the Lobster is matched with Franky and Mr. Krabs gets Jinbe’s look.

Based on the leak, the crossover appears to be the next Happy Meal promotion arriving at McDonald’s restaurants in Australia, with fans already speculating that it could also launch in other countries at a later date.
