A family in Ohio unfortunately went through a tragedy after their dog unexpectedly died. While they definitely teared up at first, they ended up vlogging the dog’s funeral at a local park, where they were seen laughing while scattering his ashes in a creek.

Sam, also known as shawtgal49, shared the funeral vlog on TikTok. She is a very popular content creator with 1.3 million followers on TikTok alone, often sharing videos with her family. The clip attached above wasn’t the exception, and it went viral in less than a day. It garnered 804,300 views, 161,700 likes, and close to 1,000 comments.
The Ohio mother shared the sad news at the beginning of the clip. Their family dog, Rinky, had passed away weeks ago. The sad news shook the family, of course, and they struggled at first. However, they soon came to accept the reality of the situation and decided to give Rinky a proper goodbye in their own terms.
Sam’s children screamed at the camera that Rinky had died, which was nothing but a small display of what was about to happen. After being told to keep the crazy levels moderate, the mother explained that they had arrived at the park where they would take Rinky to spread some of his ashes.
A Bizarre, Heartwarming Goodbye
Sam would then grab Rinky’s urn, which her son, Mack, soon grabbed and started to hug and kiss. Sam’s daughter, Winnie, then held Rinky’s remains, saying, “Oh Rinky, you’re so heavy, Rinky!” Sam and her husband laughed out loud.
The Ohio woman then grabbed the bag containing Rinky’s ashes from the urn. Her husband, worried, told her, “I swear to God, if you spill that dog in our car…“
Each family member took turns carrying Rinky’s ashes. And after both kids fell in what they led viewers to believe was a treacherous path, they eventually arrived at a creek. Sam opened Rinky’s ash bag and asked if anyone wanted to say nice things about the dog.
“I love the Rinky,” Winnie said. Mack, meanwhile, said, “Yeah.”
Both kids took turns scattering Rinky’s ashes. As they did, the water turned white, and even some of them remained in the rocks right next to the creek. Still, the emotional and laughter-filled moment ended with the family waving goodbye to Rinky, whose remains were slowly swept away by the waters.
