The top base locations in Palworld 1.0.

Choosing the Palworld 1.0 best base locations will entirely depend on what you want to get out of your bases. Do you want them to focus on mining? Cooking? Do you want one that looks beautiful, or one that’s completely focused on functionality? Ultimately, the best base location is down to your personal preference.
With that in mind, here are our picks for the Palworld 1.0 best base locations. This includes best early game bases, mid-game bases, and late game bases which have been decided by looking at the resources you can get.

Palworld Best early game base locations
When you first start out in Palworld you’ll need somewhere with plenty of Ore, somewhere you can easily get Stone, Paldium Fragments, collect Wood, and a place that’s accessible for creating your first base. You’ll also want somewhere that’s relatively flat to help you figure out your layout strategy before you move onto more advanced base building techniques.
Hill of Beginnings (233, -488) — Windswept Hills
This area is just beneath the point you start in Palworld, and is between the Grassy Behemoth Hills and Hill of Beginnings Fast Travel points. These will come in handy when you start exploring further afield.
Now, the reason this base is a solid choice is because it’s easy to defend from incoming attacks. It’s flat enough to get a decent base layout figured out, there are plenty of resources within the area, including Ore, and even more in the surrounding forests. There are also plenty of low-level Pals around to catch to put to work. In short, it’s excellent for a beginner.

Desolate Church (70, -405) — Windswept Hills
This is another area in Windswept Hills, which is your starter area for a reason. This time, you can find multiple Ore deposits behind the Desolate Church (which also handily has its own Fast Travel point — are you sensing a theme here?).
As well as all the Ore you can collect, it’s pretty flat which is handy for sorting out your layout. This area can spawn Mushroom, Wood, Stone and other useful low-level Pals like Melpaca. On top of this, its position behind the abandoned church makes it a rather scenic early-game choice for a home.

Palworld Best mid-game base locations
Once you’ve found your feet and have explored further afield in Palworld, you’re going to start needing a few more materials to craft better items, armor, weapons and even saddles to turn certain Pals into mounts. Also, you’ll learn that you’ll need materials like Sulfur, Crude Oil, Coal and more.
We have chosen a few more base areas for this section, mainly because you can spend a lot of time at mid-game level and mid-game resources are useful throughout your adventure.
Mount Flopie Summit (34, -50) — Moonless Shore
Just north of the Mount Flopie Summit Fast Travel Point is an area where you can find Sulfur, Stone, Coal, medium-level Pals and other basic materials like Stone or Wood in a small area. Granted, this isn’t completely flat as there is a slight incline but it’s easily worked around.
Also, if you head off just to the east-side of this area you can find a tree growing different skill fruit — which is always nice to have within reach.

Mossanda Forest (283, -103) — Verdant Brook
Just east of the Mossanda Forest Fast Travel point is a clearing where you can sometimes find a Mossanda wandering around. But that’s not why this area is on the list. This area has made this list because you can find Sulfur, Stone, and Pure Quartz all next to each other.
Also, this is another flat area which means it’s quite easy to place different structures in and there are plenty of surrounding resources like Wood, as well as medium-level Pals, to keep you busy.

Sunlit Isle (398, -465) — Sunlit Isle
Paradise anyone? Well, it’s not quite paradise but it’s close to it. Sunlit Isle can be found just south of Marsh Island (though it’s a bit annoying having an Oil Rig as a neighbour). You can fly out here with a Flying Mount or a Water Mount. However you choose to get out here, activate the island’s dedicated Fast Travel point to make getting here easier in future.
Fast Travel point aside, this island is good for a base for two main reasons. One, it’s an island which means you can easily defend it from incoming raids and attacks. Two, there are a lot of Crude Oil spots right next to each other that you can easily exploit. There’s a bonus third option: it’s a beautiful place to call home.
On top of all of this, if you’re a fan of Fishing, there’s a spot just off the west-side of the island where you can cast your line and reel in some Fishing Pals. What’s not to like?

Oasis Island (900, 191) — Oasis Island
Oasis Island can be found just off the east coast of Dessicated Desert. I recommend using a Water Mount to get there, otherwise you’ll need to battle the extreme heat and then extreme cold (at night) travelling through the desert.
Once you’re here, it’s another paradise. Now, if you’ve got a base at Sunlit Isle then you don’t really need one here too. However, this is a solid alternative if you don’t want to live next to an Oil Rig. This one is also an island which means you can easily defend it from incoming raids and attacks. Crude Oil spots are plentiful, it’s beautiful, and you can partake in a spot of Fishing too.

Palworld Best late game base locations
We’ve chosen two locations that are good choices for your late-game bases. The first is a place that will give you plenty of Hexolite, and the second spawns a lot of Soralite Ore — so they’re both very mining-focused base locations.
Please note, we’ve not included the World Tree in this list for the time being.
Silent Lake (-1202, -1496) — Feybreak Island
This area is very close to the Silent Lake Fast Travel point in the southern portion of Feybreak Island. Here, you’ll need to have plenty of Cold Resistance or a Fire-type Pal at your side to stay warm while you’re scouting the area out — it gets a bit chilly!
The area surrounding the Fast Travel point spawns quite a few Hexolite veins that you can set up your base around. Focusing on mining is the way you’ll make the most of this area, especially as Hexolite becomes an important material for high-tier weaponry and gear.

Waterlily Gorge (-530, -1499) — Sunreach
This area is also very handily next to a Fast Travel point. The area almost directly next to the Waterlily Gorge Fast Travel point in the south-west island of Sunreach spawns multiple Soralite ores you can utilise. Just like the location mentioned above, creating a base that’s focused on mining is how you’ll make the most out of this location.
Though this is technically a late-game area, you can get here early in your adventure if you’ve got a Flying Mount with a lot of stamina. I recommend activating the fast travel point the moment you reach the area, otherwise you’ll need to climb again if you get hit by a high-level Pal.
