The top picks for Mega counters against Latios are Mega Rayquaza and Mega Garchomp. Both use Dragon Tail and Breaking Swipe. After this we have Mega Mewtwo Y (Shadow Ball) and Mega Salamence (Draco Meteor), but these are a far cry from the Mega Skynoodle.
Mega Latios non-Mega counters
Eternatus (Dynamax Cannon) is unsurprisingly OP here. Your next-best options are Black Kyurem, Dawn Wings Necrozma, White Kyurem and Shadow Garchomp.

How to beat Mega Latios
Dragon vs Dragon is always rough, but Mega Rayquaza is notably one of the most powerful Pokémon in the game.
If you have five Eternatus backing it up, fantastic. If not, work your way down the list with your most powerful Dragon, Ice and Fairy-types, prioritising Dragons.
This is going to be a lot easier than the Mega version of this raid, but it’s still no slouch. You need at least one other Trainer if you’re a very high level with optimal counters, but an ideal group size includes three or four other Trainers.

Latios’s best moveset depends on how you want to use it. If you’re using it in Master League, you want Dragon Breath as a Fast Move, and Aura Sphere and Lustre Purge as Charged Moves. However, since it is a powerful Psychic-type Raid attacker in its Mega Evolved form, you might prefer to give it Zen Headbutt as a Fast Move and Psychic as a Charged Move. The choice is yours.

Is shiny Latios in Pokémon Go?
Yes, shiny Latios is in Pokémon Go! Shiny Latios was added to Pokémon Go in April 2019, a few months after its cousin, shiny Latias.
Shiny Latios is a teal, which is ok but nowhere near as cool as Shiny Latias’s golden hue. Its shiny, as you’ll see below, just makes us facepalm.
We don’t normally put two species on the same image, but since they’re effectively interchangeable, take a look below. The only difference between shiny Latias and shiny Latios is the eye colour (which stays almost the same regardless of shiny status). The same is true for shiny Mega Latias and shiny Mega Latios.
Everything we know about Latios
Latios, alongside its compatriot Latias, is the Eon Pokémon. The two are very similar, being a cross between a dragon and a griffin — and when their Megas are thrown into the mix, a fighter jet.
For those who struggle with this (and understandably so), Latias is the red one, turning orange when shiny. Latios is the blue one, which turns green when shiny. Both, frustratingly, turn purple when Mega Evolved, and both turn green as the shiny Mega. The only visual difference between the Megas is the eye colour — Mega Latios has red irises, while Mega Latias has yellow irises.
