Grand Theft Auto 6 fans are already paying above retail price to pre-order the game through eBay, despite there being no shortage of copies to buy directly.
GTA 6 pre-orders officially opened on June 25, with Rockstar confirming the Standard Edition will cost $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition will cost $99.99. The long-awaited sequel is set to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Rockstar also confirmed that digital pre-loading will begin on November 12. Even the physical edition of GTA 6 is not a traditional disc release, as the boxed version only contains a download code for the game, meaning there is no real scarcity around discs or stock in the usual sense.

Despite that, multiple sold eBay listings show buyers paying well above retail price for GTA 6 pre-orders.
One sold listing for a PS5/Xbox Series X|S pre-order went for $138.20, with an additional $17.03 delivery charge. Another PS5 presale listing from the US sold for $120, plus $9.53 delivery.
Other sold listings show the standard PS5 edition going for $87.90, $93.22 with $20.47 delivery, and $101.19, all above the confirmed $79.99 retail price. One Ultimate Edition listing sold for $101.19, slightly above the $99.99 retail price.
The listings appear to be for pre-orders rather than rare physical stock, making the markup especially unusual. GTA 6 can still be pre-ordered through official digital storefronts, and boxed copies will not include a disc when they arrive in stores.
Rockstar’s physical edition is scheduled to be available from November 12 to support pre-loading, but it will only include a code that can be redeemed for the digital download. Rockstar wrote in the pre-order details for physical editions, “a disk will not be included in the box.”
